Halo: Into the Howling Dark Definitive Edition RP

They’re gone…they’re all gone.

First Aaron, then Winter, and now Jess? Why?

Not her, not our only chance of happiness

We’re alone once more.

Blake didn’t say a word as he reached for his magnum, and loaded a bullet Into the chamber, turning the safety off, as he pressed the gun to his temple, looking up at the wall of the drawing Jess has made for him, tears ran down his cheeks as he stopped for a second and said his final words.

“Tod, mein Freund, ich habe mich gefragt… Wo bist Du?”
he said, smiling as he took a good look at the sketch one last, before pulling the trigger, the sound of the magnum roared in the room as Blake fell onto floor, dead before he even hit it. As he stated so long ago, he would be the end of his bloodline. And now he was another memory left to be forgotten.

(Death my friend, I’ve been wondering…where the hell have you been?)

And Alexei dies of a brain aneurism.

OOC: and I’m out of HD. See yah!

Catina brought the sights of her Appetite For Destruction up to her eye. Aiming at this unwelcome guest on their ship.

Midnight hopped out of the shadows. “It was just a prank!”

Sky snuggled up with Vanessa, hugging her tightly as she lay down.

March 8th, 2558, Dark Star III enters Kholo’s system

“Is that Project Dark Star’s second iteration?” Olivia asks a lower officer.

“Yes, ma’am.” He replies. The ship is noticably smaller than the III

“Disable its weapons and get boarding parties prepared, including the Spartans.” Olivia ordered. As the Dark Stars aligned, the III fired first, attacking with its twin plasma batteries, which sliced the hull and disabled the MAC cannons on the Dark Star II.

Explosions blossomed on the hull, but there was still fight left in her as a single retaliating MAC round punched a hole in the Dark Star III. Pelicans began to leave their bays, heading toward the Dark Star II.

“Lock n’ load, Daylight, we’re going in first. Olivia’s still mad as usual, so we finally get some time to think. A bit of background before we go in; whoever is commanding this ship took down two of ours already, unprovoked. Battle reports salvaged from their wreckage show that a boarding party was sent, and proceeded to be ambushed by an overwhelming force that was indistinguishable. Be ready for anything.” Sky briefed her team.

“For all of our sakes, I hope it isn’t the Flood.” Grace said, the thought sending a chill down her spine.

Catina continued to aim for a few seconds. Then looked at Aries, and back to Midnight “I guess you are not too familiar with Humans carrying unborn children. But stress can be bad for our five kids, possibly fatal.” Catina informed her. “Matter of fact, we may have you read all of the things Aries and I were told to do and not do.” Catina felt the need to say to Midnight.

“And what do you think Aries. Make sure Midnight watches as our children are born? If it is possible for a Warden to become physically ill at the sight of something. That might be it.”

Levi snarled beneath his helmet, forcefully tearing his AR off of the rack as he slammed a mag into it.

“Are our enemies Human?” He muttered. Sasha heard him, posing the question to Sky as Vanessa grabbed a shotgun in place of her usual rocket launcher. Levi finished getting equipped, leaning against the wall as he let out a stressful sigh. Sasha approached, finishing stuffing her hair into her helmet before standing next to him.

“Something on your mind?” She asked, switching to a private comm.

“Mortality, war…murder…the norm”

“I see, anything else?”

“How much I’d rather be doing literally anything else, but you know what happened last time somebody asked for a break”

“Imagine how much they must have wanted out, they’ve been here for years. You’re just the newbie” Sasha smiled, patting him on the shoulder. Levi hung his head, tears beginning to form in his tired eyes.

“I just want to go home…Everyone here just kills each other or kills themselves…I don’t know if I can retire, but I sure as hell need a break…”

“Me and Vanessa were actually talking about that before…you know…happened”

Levi composed himself, turning to his teammate.

“And?”

“We’d be up for it if we could, but we’ve still got things here to do…She’s been getting pretty close to the commander…”

Levi let out a low chuckle, before staring up at the ceiling.

“Good for her…she needs someone to care for her”

“She’s always complaining about Sky’s coddling though…”

“As one does”

“As one does”

Vanessa finished getting her weapons together, striding over to join her teammates.

“Hey!” Sasha exclaimed.

“Hello” Vanessa replied, a nervous tone to her tired voice.

Harold turned to Damo “feels kinda like a season final?”

“Scared?” Sasha grinned. Vanessa paused for a moment, before reluctantly nodding.

“Let’s just get this over with”

“Agreed” Levi replied, making his way to the Pelican as Sasha and Vanessa followed.

“It does… An omen for what is ahead, perhaps.” Damo said.

“That is horrible… We all lose something…” Chree said.

Grace nodded.

“I’m sorry.” Midnight said. "We thought it would be funny to put an animatronic tail in the vent.

A small smile formed behind Vanessa’s helmet as Sasha cracked a wide grin at the sight, sitting down in the corner of the Pelican with Levi as he stared off into space, his mind occupied.

Just let me see them one last time…I’ll die for whatever cause is just, but please…spare my mother’s grief…

He whispered a short prayer, before continuing to stare off.

“So…what if they are Humans?” Sasha blurted out. Levi jumped at the thought, before slowly turning to face his teammate.

“…I…I don’t know…”

“Boss lady is gonna get her knickers in a twist if you don’t mow everyone down”

“Oh I’m sure…I just…Aliens are one thing…But I don’t think I could kill another human being”

“You’ve almost done it before, now you just have to finish the job”

“Keith was different though…I had reason to hate him, and even then I only hospitalized him…”

“I envy you” Sasha sighed.

“You’re wasting your time in that case, I’m not worth getting jealous over”

“You don’t know what it’s like to kill another human, let alone somebody you knew and loved…”

"Is Arrikay around anywhere? Unfortunately, that thing did frighten Aries very, very badly, and I want to make sure her twins are alright.’ Catina said.

And she walked over to the nearest intercom. “All clear.” She said to let the Huragoks know they could deactivate the shields that were designed for them to hide above.

“All hands, battle stations!” 4728 shouted. “They are deploying boarding craft…” Tom sighed. “I’ve doomed us all.” He said quietly. “Cassandra, report to the command deck immediately.” He ordered.

Daylight’s Pelican arrived in the hangar. Fighting and gunfire could be heard further inside the ship. “Vanessa… Stay close to me.” Sky said.
