The fact that there’s so much artwork I think is a testament to the imagination and inspiration that this MOC invokes.
I can still view the poll so I figured I would relay the final count.
Entry 6 - 409
Entry 2 - 377
TTV has yet to finalize checking the votes, but with a 32 vote lead, it’s probably not going to change it much. However don’t count your chickens before they hatch; Greg is fully capable of saying no even if he likes the joke, in which case he’ll look at entry 2. And if he doesn’t like entry 2, the contest is over.
Frankly, I wonder if Greg even cares enough about Bionicle to say no.
It’s what he’s most known for by a single fandom, but that was still ten years ago.
Exactly- i remember a slew of joke MOCs done years ago where they were all just basic CCBS Skeletons with a few extra bits added on. joke mocs don’t take much thought and are usually done using the simplest means available. using Zamor launcher hoses as limbs doesn’t feel like it was a rushjob. there HAD to have been some intent, some care put behind it.
No joke MOC would have that level of unorthodox build. there was either intent or a sheer miracle of stupid brilliance.
Aged like the finest of wines.
If Greg cares enough to not only allow but suggest the contests if enough people want them, I think he cares enough what wins.
I dunno if I’d say that, I think he cares to propell Bionicle more, but I’m not sure if he would have any personal stakes in what wins or loses.
I personally am of the opinion it aged well in the worst possible way.
How can something age well badly?
TTV is not the whole bionicle community. Nothing is broken, sheesh
Why do I get the feeling that, no matter what the ultimate outcome of this contest is, I’m going to see a lot of people saying very hurtful things that they will eventually regret?
Guys, I’ve admitted myself that I would have preferred another entry to win, but if the community wants something different, that doesn’t give me the right to defame anyone. Disagreements are disagreements…they come and they go.
If you like Hoseryx, great…she may likely become canon. Don’t use that as an opportunity to gloat.
If you dislike Hoseryx, also fine…you can ignore her if you wish. Don’t use that as an opportunity to excoriate the community for making their voices heard.
Some of this artwork is actually good. But they are the ones that redesign hoseryx into something actually bionicle looking and just keep the thin idea. That artwork and the moc are completely different. Recreate the moc to fit the artwork and we’d have no issue.
Ha-ha funny joke. No designing or thought process was put in it obviously, because it doesn’t have any interesting design features, it is just a stickman with a Pakari (it can’t even stand properly)
As someone who tried to build it without noticing the feet stick at first, it can. It isn’t easy, but it can.
Ok, I think I just have to calm down and let it go, I can’t change anything:)
Just one more question: Do you really think that G1 is so bad that the original Hoseryx would fit in canon perfectly?
I’ve spoken.
How would you go about doing that while maintaining the integrity of the fluidity of the build? The problem that I see is that the available parts are somewhat limited to be able to make it look more like the artwork. At most, the artwork articulates the “frame” with more mechanical themes.
There are canon builds that are absolutely ridiculous looking, bendy is fine.
As I sit and pontificate upon esoteric ponderances such as the scope of the universe, the meaning of existence, and the magnificence of Helryx the Bendy, I find myself quite often contemplating upon the incongruous audacity of this magnanimous MOC’s detractors. Are they simply envious of us? As intellectual titans of the highest caliber, such a conclusion would not be unfounded. Might it be that they are intimidated? As a studious arbiter of logical thought, I have been privy to–and, in some instances, been the proprietor of–many instances of naysayers’ intellectual dismemberment at the hands of the myriad Bendycholars, so this hypothesis, too, has its merits.
It takes a true scholarly mind and unflinching perseverance in the face of adversity and criticism to maintain such an unflinching level of intellectual honesty and peerless perspicacity that has become the hallmark of the Bendyscholars. Perhaps, rather than crush them underfoot as helpless insectoids, utilizing our collective titanic intellect as a proverbial boot, we should show them a modicum of pity and extend to them the enlightened hand of the Bendyy Church. Pity and reliance on others, of course, is the bane of the cultivation of true inner strength, but some beings begin life too weak to seek it out on their own. They are simply dealt a poor hand, but they must rise above it instead of fighting blindly against it with childish insults, jejune arguments, and a veritable maelstrom of logical fallacies that they tirelessly pepper us with in a never ending, fruitless onslaught.
It is our duty, brethren, to show ALL peoples the way. Even those that seek to turn from it. GLORY AND APPROBATION TO BENDYRX THE CANONICAL!
Why are you like this
to everyone who join for no reason other then to vote for Hoseryx and get it canon…
in all Serious. Hoseryx isn’t that bad of a idea. it’s just the that the Quality and Execution was done Horribly, couple with the fact that this one Originally a joke moc. and you got the reason why so many of us hated it and didn’t want it to be canon.
if this dumb thing wins the vote let’s just hope the art contest dose a better job with the idea.
We know you don’t like the entry but please more respectful towards other people’s works.
