Heroes of Farrum | D&D Poster

Hello everyone on the Boards!

It’s Christmas time again, and your present from me has come early (well…close enough).

It’s been 8 entire years since I first played D&D. These characters have meant so much to me ever since.

Recently, I got together with my friends and we did a Level 20 one-shot with our original campaign characters. In anticipation for that (and also because one of my friends wanted all of our campaign posters hung on her wall by where we play), I did a modern remake.

Ghar, the Druidic protector of the elements. Arrgath, the fearsome and wild Barbarian. Veronna, the hard-edged elven genius. Henry, the chaotic sorcerer prince. Roscoe, world-renowned halfling bard and spark of hope.

The design and layout was heavily inspired by the key art for the new Marvel Rivals game.

Here is your Christmas cookie: :cookie:

Ghar returns :eye: :eye:

Wonderful piece of work you’ve got here. The sharpness of whichever one the red one is fits the pose beautifully. If these fine folks were in their own hero shooter, I’d definitely pick it up :smirk:

HE'S BACK : r/Spiderman

That would be Henry!
His cloak lends itself to some dynamic shape design, so he’s very fun to draw.

It also helps that the Rivals art has Doctor Strange wearing a very similar cloak that I could shamelessly ape, but I think it turned out very interesting.

Thanks! That actually means a lot to hear.

If I knew how to model and 3D animate at any level of competency for video games, I would honestly give it a shot. I’ve certainly done my fair share of imagining them as hero shooter characters and thinking about what their kits would be. It would be awesome.

Sadly, not in my skillset, or my scope. Buuuut, there might be a different sort of gaming project I’ve been working on that does feature these and other characters that I would love to release in the new year… :eyes:

We shall see!

What software did you use to illustrate this artwork?

I use Photoshop, but that’s only because I am fortunate enough to have access to it for free via my wife’s work.

Before that, I had it for free through the college I went to, but they have since discontinued my access to it.

If I didn’t have Photoshop, I would likely be using Krita. It seems to be the best and most similar alternative.
