Hidden Light II

Chapter 22
Seihu and Draku were standing with their weapons out. Seihu fell on the floor with his hand on the ground while breathing heavily; Draku looked behind him almost in accomplishment until he fell on the ground with a gash in his armor that spewed out darkness and Antidermis.

Seihu got back up and looked behind him. Draku got up determined to finish this battle.

But the Rahkshi didn’t give up so easily, Seihu was wondering how to end this battle, so he lured the Rahkshi into shooting the support of a Sculpture. Just as Draku was about to fire at Seihu, Seihu climbed up the sculpture and when Draku shot from his halberd, Seihu ricocheted off of it, flipped over Draku, and shot a penetrating beam of light that went through the gash in Draku’s armor to the Kraata inside of it. Just when Seihu landed, he sprinted and jumped at the Rahkshi. Once Seihu jumped, his feet lit up with a devastatingly bright light and he kicked the Rahkshi into the Sculpture, in a way that combines the flight of a Gukko with the kick of a Fusa. The crash caused the sculpture to collapse on Draku, ending his life once and for all.
Seihu managed to get the strength to stand up and leave.

Draku laughed in a fatigued manner, “You foolish Toa, while you were wasting your time fighting me, all the Vahki and the Dark Hunters, Dume has the Matoran in the transport. You can’t rescue them all now.”

Meanwhile, in the Colusium, Yahru woke up in the sphere. He didn’t know where he was, but knew that he had to get out.

Once he opened the sphere’s window, he saw the Kraahu guarding it left and right.

“That will change” Seihu panted heavily while looking at the Coliseum and pointing his finger to Draku.
Then he went to the Coliseum, to get Yahru and help with rescuing the rest of the Matoran.
Seihu raced to the Coliseum to go after the Matoran.
While he raced over to the Coliseum, Seihu noticed that a Gukko was flying near him and signaled to Seihu to climb on. Seihu noticed that his Carigi was perched on the Gukko’s back, and Seihu jumped on and the Gukko and flew over to the Coliseum.

Yahru noticed that most of his weapons and tools were gone except a vial of water that he forgot that he had.

Yahru had to figure out how to get out of this situation. The one thing he remembered was an exercise that Seihu taught him that involved getting out of tight spaces.

Yahru looked for any cracks in the sphere and found a few small ones.

Yahru sat meditatively to compose himself, once he gathered up enough internal energy he dented the sphere enough to grab the Kraahu’s attention. Once the Kraahu noticed, it was too late. Yahru used the vial of water he had, and doused the Kraahu all over, short circuiting it.

Yahru then grabbed one of the Kraahu’s legs/tools, and used it to make a bigger opening on the outside of the Matoran Sphere, enabling him to escape.

When Seihu got to the Coliseum, he noticed four Vahki transports, three of them close to the Telescreen and one that was coming in. Seihu was about to go in, when he hid somewhere and looked intently at the fourth Vahki transport and found one Toa driving the Vahki transport, Matau; and five other Toa, Vakama, Nokama, Nuju, Whenua and Onewa leaving the ship and going after the three Vahki Transports.

Seihu whispered, “The six Toa made it…” as he kneeled on the floor tired.

Then Seihu saw a red and gold familiar looking Turaga leaving that same ship,
“Wait, it can’t be.” Seihu thought, “Lhikan?!” Seihu caught on and found out that the Turaga was Lhikan.

As they ran for the Vahki transports, Dume yelled “Too late, Toa”.

Just then “Dume” took off his mask and revealed to be Makuta.

“The Shadow has arrived” Makuta declared.

When Seihu saw that, he felt a chill through his body and was almost paralyzed at the sight of Dume’s true identity.

“Makuta” Seihu whispered with a slight quiver in his voice…

Chapter 23

While Seihu was standing back watching, he heard Makuta’s interaction with the Lhikan and the Toa.

“Makuta, you were sworn to protect the Matoran”, Turaga Lhikan reprimanded.
“Oh, but I shall”, Makuta replied, “And when they awake, I will be their Great Leader”,
“I better find Yahru and the other Matoran” Seihu determined.
Seihu stormed off as Makuta made the dreaded announcement.

“Now even the Great Spirit will soon sleep,” Makuta said.

Seihu felt helpless as Makuta darkened the sky and the two moons closed like eyelids.

Seihu went to the Corridor to look for the Matoran and found a corridor containing a lot of sphere like objects. Seihu went in there and sensed that life was in many of those spheres.

Seihu heard a Matoran who sounded like Yahru in another room and ran towards it.

Yahru reclined by one of the columns of the corridor, panting after moving some of the Matoran spheres. Unfortunately, some remaining Kraahu parts were coming after Yahru.

Finding Yahru and noticing the predicament, Seihu came up and sliced the elite Vahki model’s legs and body and thus defeated it.

Yahru looked back up at Toa Seihu.
“Master Seihu?”
Seihu nods, “are you okay, Yahru?”
“Well, I was almost a living Vahki trophy, where have you been?
“I had my share of enemies to fight as well. No time to explain, I have to get you out of here”.
“Not until we take back the Matoran”
Seihu couldn’t dispute that, so he went with Yahru to the storage facility to help pick up some Matoran spheres, before hearing a Vahki transport come in.

“Yahru we got to go”
“What?”
“Now”
Yahru reluctantly went with Seihu to hide.

Seihu saw the Vahki transport open in a distance and spotted the six Toa approaching the spheres.
“Can we save them all?” Nokama asked the other five Toa and Lhikan.
“Time is too short,” replied Vakama. “But if we save a few, we save hope for all.”

The six Toa and Lhikan brought the six Matoran to their Vahki transport.
Yahru was itching to help them out, but Seihu sensed this and restrained and silenced Yahru before they got caught.

The six Toa left with the few spheres of Matoran, determined to come back for the rest later.

“Yahru.” Seihu whistled.
Yahru followed Seihu to another Vahki transport.

Seihu got behind the wheel of a Vahki transport and drove it.
After he recovered, Seihu drove on one of the bridges near the Great Temple while the Toa Metru were driving their Vahki Transport through the Silver Sea. Yahru, while recovering, had questions for Seihu.

“Master Seihu, how come we didn’t get the rest of the Matoran?”
“Yahru, the Toa Metru have their destiny and that is to rescue the Matoran, all we are to do is be there to help them”
“But…”
“Yahru you may not understand this now, but we did the proper thing.”

At the time, Makuta just absorbed Nidhiki, Krekka and Nivawk, and manipulated the Protodermis columns in the Silver Sea.

Although the Toa did well in evading and overcoming most of the Protodermis columns, one of the columns fell in front of the transport and caused the Matoran spheres to fall out of the vessel. That prompted five of the Toa to get the rest of the Matoran, while Vakama was lifted up to the cliff to face Makuta.

While the Toa Metru placed the Matoran spheres on a rocky shore on the sea, the Vahki were about to destroy the Toa.
This caught Seihu’s attention.
“Yahru stay here” Seihu instructed.
Seihu jumped out of the Vahki transport and swam to the shore…

Chapter 24
When Seihu arrived on the shore, he hid behind a rock to do a surprise attack.

The Vahki were closing in, catching the attention of Nokama.
“Look out!” Nokama exclaimed to the other Toa.
The Vahki were closing in.
Taking out his Aero Slicers, Matau groaned “Oh joy, more of those crash-bang Vahki”
The Vahki were closing in, as the Toa were getting their weapons ready.
Seihu dug out his boomerang.
Just when the Vahki closed in, Seihu threw his boomerang and it crashed into one of the Vahki.
Six of the Vahki turned around and went to look at why one of the Vahki fell.
The Toa looked as well.
“Whoa, what was that?” Whenua asked.
“Come on, let’s take a closer look”. Onewa commanded.
Before they could do it they were held up by 3 of the Vahki.

When six of the Vahki went to one of the shore areas to look for the attacker, Seihu showed up behind them.

When the Toa Metru defeated the three Vahki and were picking up the Matoran, Lhikan picked up Seihu’s boomerang and walked past the gorge. One of the Toa noticed Lhikan going somewhere, “Lhikan, where are going?” Nuju asked
“Wait here, Toa”

Through a series of punches, kicks, strikes, and slashes, Seihu defeated four Vahki in a flash of his element and sliced off the heads of the last two with his sword. Seihu thought he was alone after that, but he wasn’t. A friend came to greet him.

“Lose something, Seihu?” Lhikan asked while holding Seihu’s boomerang.
Seihu looked behind him “Lhikan?”
Seihu bowed in respect.
Lhikan handed Seihu his boomerang.

Lhikan noticed the scraps of defeated Vahki parts circling Seihu.

Lhikan nodded, “You couldn’t resist coming, could you Seihu?”

Seihu replied, “I couldn’t, but I needed to.”
“What happened to your powers?” Seihu then asked
“My Toa powers are now part of the six Toa” Lhikan responded.
“That makes sense”
“You couldn’t have come at a better time”, Lhikan said. “If you can provide, there is one favor I need to ask of you.”
“What would that be?”
“Do you still have access to your pets?”
Seihu replied, “Yes, why do you ask?” …

Meanwhile, on a cliff, Vakama and Makuta were facing off. Vakama brought out the mask of time and started using it to slow down Makuta’s shadow hand from attacking him.

Edit (07/14/2022, 11:27am EST): Added names of Toa.

Chapter 25
In the start of the battle between Vakama and Makuta, Seihu flew Lhikan over to the cliff on his newly adopted Gukko.

“Here you go, Lhikan.” Seihu said, “Do what you must do”.

Lhikan gave a fist-bump to Seihu for the last time, “You too. Thank you for all of your help, brother Seihu”.
“Likewise” Seihu sighed.

Just when Makuta was closing in on Vakama with his shadow hand attack, Lhikan ran between Vakama and Makuta and took the blow for Vakama.

Seihu was shocked and paralyzed to see what happened. Seihu would have gone for Lhikan but he knew from Lhikan himself that he had to do it.

Seihu stood behind a boulder and bore witness to Vakama’s battle with Makuta.

The other Toa needed to get up the cliff to meet with Vakama, so Seihu whistled for his Gukko to fly two of two of the Toa over to the Cliff, while Nuju got two more Toa to the cliff using his mask power and Matau used his Aero Slicer wings to fly to the cliff.

The rest of Toa were making their way up to the cliff to meet Vakama. Once the other Toa Metru arrived, all 6 of them joined fists and produced a Protodermis seal on Makuta.

Seihu was amazed by the way the Toa sealed Makuta.
“Never have I seen such a power of unity, in my whole life,” Seihu remarked.
The seal was finished.
Seihu then looked at the sky at Toa Lhikan’s spirit star as it broke into 6 spirit stars for each Toa Metru.
The Toa Metru saw it as well.
“Then that confirms it, we are Toa” Nuju happily declared.
All six Toa cheered with their victory over Makuta, with Seihu looking up and nodding with approval.
Seihu nodded silently, “Great job, all of you.”

As they left, Seihu looked up at the sky and after the Toa Metru’s spirit stars flew away, Seihu saw a less conspicuous but bright star that revealed itself and followed the Toa Metru. When Seihu saw that star, he felt such a strong connection to it that it led him to the conclusion that the Spirit Star was his, leading Seihu to smile.

Seihu walked over and kneeled to the deceased Turaga Lhikan, “You were a hero to the end brother Lhikan, and your sacrifice will not be in vain”. Seihu gave a solemn bow to his friend, brother, mentor and former fellow Toa.

That was when he saw Lhikan getting beamed up into the sky.

Seihu flew back to the Great Temple Bridge and came back to the Vahki transport.

When Seihu returned, Yahru asked, “Master Seihu, what happened over there?”
“The Toa won.”
“That’s great, where are they going now?”
“Somewhere similar to where we are going right now.”

Epilogue

“Here we are Yahru”.
Yahru looked around and saw the lush, tropical, yet primitive setting of the arrival destination.
“What is this place?” Yahru asked.
Seihu responded, “Our new home.”
Yahru asked, “How come?”
“As you know, Metru Nui has been destroyed, and until we somehow have the means to help repair it, we may be here for a while.”
“What about the other Toa, why are they going back?”
“They have more work to finish. We just have to wait for them to return with all the other Matoran.” Seihu said. “So right now, we have to settle here”

Seihu would have gone back to help, however, an agent from The Order of Mata Nui intervened.
“Seihu, let the Toa handle it, their destiny is yet to be fulfilled. You have done your part for now” The agent said.
Seihu entrusted the rest of the Matoran to the Toa Metru while it was his to clear the way for them to get the rest of the Matoran.

Seihu still had some tasks to accomplish as a Toa, but first, Seihu decided to train Yahru in the Island of Mata Nui, and anticipate the Toa Metru’s return.

Eventually, the Toa Metru came back to Mata Nui with the rest of the Matoran and freed them.
After they freed them, the Toa Metru became Turaga.

Seihu (and occasionally a few Order on Mata Nui members) trained Yahru for 499 years on a small portion of the Island of Mata Nui. At the 500th year, Seihu got a telepathic word from an Order of Mata Nui agent.
“Metru Nui needs to be defended once more. There is a horde of loose Visorak trying to take over what’s left.”
“Yahru, I must go back to Metru Nui”
“But wasn’t it destroyed?”
“Yes, but if I don’t go now, it will only get worse.”
Seihu put his hand on Yahru’s shoulder, “You must stay on this island for a while and stay with the other Matoran until I say you can come.”
So Seihu got his things and headed for Metru Nui, and went through the Great Barrier back to Metru Nui.

It was there that he was met by former Arena fighters from his past who he and Hulgon helped train and reform. Together, Seihu, Hulgon, and the four former Arena fighters secretly aided the Rahaga, Keetongu, and the real Turaga Dume- who was freed from his Matoran sphere- against the remaining armies of Visorak, as well as some other fiends seeking to take over Metru Nui.
Once he subdued the Visorak with the help of his team, Seihu returned to the Island of Mata Nui and continued to train Yahru in a smaller island located near the Island of Mata Nui.

This went on until Metru Nui was reopened for all the inhabitants of the Island. That was when Seihu; Yahru; another group of Toa, the Toa Nuva; the Matoran; and their new Turaga came back to Metru Nui.

He still stayed in the shadows, but never too much to violate trust among the Matoran. Even there, he mentored Yahru throughout the event from the migration to Mata Nui up to the return to Metru Nui.
Although a majority of Seihu’s story is told, Seihu’s story will forge new stories along the way.

That was it for the story. Please leave a comment in the section below.
