Hot Wheels Acceleracers

When it aired on Toonami back in the day the show never had the Hot Wheels suffix; it was simply called “Acceleracers”.

My guess was that the movies were so seperated from the brand of toys it was based on that it was able to stand on its own. Shame it got cancelled just as the plot got kicked off. Mattel cancelled it because of a change in staff and opted not to continue Acceleracers which had been slated for a second season according to the shows toy designers. Shame.

Though we might be getting a sequel to it in a weird way…

I think I saw one of these aeons ago, but I really don’t remember which one or what it was about. Seems fun though, maybe it’s worth checking out!

There’s five films, World Race is 2 hours long and the four Acceleracers films are an hour each with a couple of 5-minute-ish shorts in between each film

I think they’re all great, and they’re all available in full on YouTube!

Hotwheels was like the second half of my childhood (Lego being the first). I notice the channel name is Vert Wheeler, who happens to be a character in “Hotwheels Battle Force Five,” is there any correlation/crossover between these?

Vert Wheeler was originally the name of a Highway 35/Acceleracers character; the Wave Rippers team leader and later a member of the Teku. He’s the main character of Highway 35 and spends Acceleracers dealing with impostor syndrome

Mattel reused the “Vert Wheeler” name for BF5 but the two characters are totally unrelated to each other, as are the two franchises

Funnily enough BF5 also reused another Acceleracers name, though for one of the cars - Reverb. Since you seem familiar with BF5 already, you may recognise Reverb as this car:

I am familiar - my brother has this one! Guns and bottom attachment and everything.

The Vert Wheeler thing is interesting, they look somewhat similar. I suppose that’s just a coincidence.
