How do plants from the MU reproduce?

We know that Rahi do not reproduce in the wild like normal, non-protodermis-based creatures. However, do the protodermis-based plants in the MU reproduce like normal plants, that is, with pollination and seeds?

I ask because the serial Into the Darkness mentions that the Makuta were originally responsible for creating the plants and animals necessary to keep the universe running smoothly. This makes it sound like the Brotherhood created plants from scratch in the same way they created Rahi. On the other hand, the existence of fruit-bearing trees like Madu seems to suggest that they reproduce using seeds.

Don’t forget that the Morbuzakh plant had seeds.

Thanks all the same if you can’t get to it. We really appreciate all you do for us, Greg.

this is a good question

Huh, presumably they’d reproduce with seeds, if only because the Makuta wouldn’t want to keep recreating them.

Plants have to have certain properties to survive and reproduce. I see no reason the Makuta could not have created plants with those properties. We have seen with Rahi the vast variety of life forms the Makuta could create using viruses.

Makes sense. Could they conceivably have created Rahi that could reproduce independently of them, if they had knowledge of such reproductive means? How much did Vican pick up from Mutran about creating Rahi?

Is it possible? Yes. Did they do it? No.

Considering how big a failure Spiriah was, that’s probably a good thing! Did Vican pick anything up in his time as Mutran’s assistant, like that other guy asked? Because someone’s going to need to create new Rahi to help keep the populations of the existing species up with the Makuta gone. How did the mechanical parts of Rahi that grew during their life cycle, like Pewku, grow with their organic parts?

The Matoran Universe is broken, and abandoned, and thus has no need for more rahi.
