I should have made this post a long time ago.
I made this account not long after I heard about the results of the first few TTV canon contests, which was, apparently, over five years ago? Oh, how time flies! Of course, we all know how those contests turned out, but I can still remember the thrill I felt when I realized new canon was happening for the first time since I had been a fan—after all, my first Bionicle set was the Protector of Water, and I was only able to purchase a few more (Uxar and Akita) before Bionicle sets retired entirely. Anyways, ever since then, I’ve been reading every post I can on these boards—I’ve even read ToGaV and Ghid’s Bo_ series multiple times. But, despite all that, I’ve faltered every time I thought about actually interacting here. Well, until now, I suppose…
Besides the Protector of Water (and DK’s The LEGO Book), my first exposure to Bionicle was a copy of Legends: Downfall that was in my school library in late 2016. Quite the start, I know, especially since I had no idea what was going on in it until I found Chronicles: Tale of the Toa in my classroom some weeks later. And yet, despite having practically no context for it, Matoro’s sacrifice still hit me just as hard. Luckily, that same school library had plenty of other BIONICLE books, and those that were not present I was able to eventually acquire. Not long after, I got my first G1 set, Lewa Mata, and I read the books and story serials obsessively for a long time after.
Outside of Bionicle, I’m a big fan of Ninjago, especially the most recent few seasons of Dragons Rising. Strangely enough, I got into both Bionicle and Ninjago through Greg Farshtey books. My primary non-LEGO interests include The Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, and D&D (although all of those have had LEGO sets, I suppose).
I’ve got a few stories I’m thinking of posting, for both Bionicle and Ninjago (one practically done, one in-progress, and one I need to fundamentally rethink before it can be in any reasonable condition). I’ve also got quite a few MOCs, though those might take a little longer, since I’m busy, pictures take time, and MOCs are never as perfect as one feels they should be.
