Is Irnakk Still Alive?

Greg doesn’t seem to be answering questions anymore, so I assume this should go here. If this is wrong spot for it please move it elsewhere.

Irnakk was initially a myth among the Skakdi race, a theoretical concept of a nightmarish monster that was so absurdly powerful and frightening it kept the otherwise warmongering species in line. This apparition came into being when the Piraka stumbled into a room deep in the heart of Voya Nui which summoned the creature from their worst fears.

After absorbing all the Piraka into himself but Zaktan, the mutated Skakdi threatened to bring the ceiling down on Irnakk and kill everyone inside, which Irnakk knew would cause him to stop existing, as there would be no one left that feared him. He backed down, freeing the Piraka and departing.

My question is, given that Irnakk reappeared nowhere else in canon, and the Piraka are now part of the Golden-Skinnned Being… Does Irnakk exist anymore? Do the Piraka still count as alive, that they continue to dread him and give him life? Or has he found someone else to scare?

I had always assumed he just dissolved when the piraka left Voya Nui. If he still exists after that, he’s probably still down there on the stairs, terrorizing Umbra

Poor Umbra man, he can’t catch a break :frowning:

As fun as it would be, i doubt it. The dead Toa Nuva ceased to exist the moment the Toa Inika left the Zone of nightmares, so Irnakk probably did too.

Isn’t Irnakk part of the whole Skakdi mythology? I think as long as any Skakdi believes in him, he is “alive”

My understanding is that Irnakk never truly existed and was just the chamber messing with the Piraka. So other Skakdi might also experience Irnakk if they were in the chamber, but it could be anything.

But that said, I do think the Golden-Skinned Being is Irnakk. Or at least, something that prodded the Skakdi into creating/fulfilling. Similar to the Blade Burrowers creating the TTV symbol or other predisposed ideas for certain Rahi creation implanted into the Makuta by the Great Beings. Some objective/destiny placed in them from the start that they’re not entirely conscious of and developed into the legend that was Irnakk.

Umbra has evacuated to Spherus Magna, searching for the mask and ready to continue his duty.

Irnakk is probably following closely behind, periodically ducking behind the arborvitae
