It's a gun.

Bang bang.

A friend was running a building contest on their Discord server - build a gun/firearm primarily using constraction and Technic. Didn’t have as much time to build as I thought, so here we go.

What pieces are being used on the barrel and handle?

@Minethuselah You’re welcome. :stuck_out_tongue:

@BynariDistress Thanks!

@Atobe_Brick Those would be Technic rubber bumpers.

Though they only appeared in, I think two Technic sets? Or at least some of these rubber bumpers did. They’re supposed to fit over these unusual Technic bricks that had these lips on them.

These bricks appear in more sets than the bumpers do.

Neat hammer, shame it lacks a trigger.

Thanks. Though yeah, the lack of trigger is why I had considered not entering this MOC at all. But figured I should show at least something and this mostly captures the silhouette.

I had considered using these:

But couldn’t figure out a connection I liked in conjunction with the rubber bumpers. Same for a couple of other parts I tried. I’m sure someone else could find a much better solution.

How are they being held together here?

I did a couple of tests. They can grab and hold onto the modern Technic beams pretty well as they’re wide/thick enough. The Technic axle connectors, these sort of guys below, also work if they have the pin hole. That portion of it is wide enough for the rubber to grab and hold. Though it does need more than one pin hole to hold onto it with any sort of strength. The rest of it is just thin enough for it to slide around.

Interesting; I didn’t know that those bumpers were (approximately) in-System like that. I didn’t even know that that’s what those weird Technic bricks were originally for.
