Is it possible that the markings on the faceplates of the Bohrok Kal are actually a map of the Bohrok Nest?
I would say no, because there would then be six different maps.
Canonically the markings are simply unique, identifiable patterns meant to resemble scales that help the Bohrok more easily identify who the Kal are - imo it has something to do with being hard-coded to follow the commands of two reptile queens and it’s the easiest way to get the bug computer soldiers to comprehend who’s in charge.
So the kal could be considered bohrok special forces?
Basically QR codes for the Bohrok?
While interesting idea, they are not actually maps. From comic 10:
Six BOHROK, one from each swarm, gifted with powers far beyond those of their brothers. They were given special markings to distinguish them from the rest of the BOHROK, and hidden in a special chamber far from the nests.
Certainly. They are independend of the hivemind and have a lot of autonomy.
There is at least one source (don’t recall which) calling them “The Rogue Squad”.
I think it’s a cool idea. Each could be a map of, say, a particular “Metru” within the hive. Moreover, the “special markings” they were given certainly does not mean that the special markings which were so distingushing weren’t also maps for the hive.
Canonically, they aren’t anything other than distinguishing markings.
But it also wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense to put the map of the hive on the faceplates of the frontrunners for the swarms. That’s bad battle strategy 101, and the Bahrag Queens were certainly smarter than that.
I wonder if the bohrok swarms ever went into battle if the queens would make the Kal the lets say five star genrals of the six swarms.and Galhok kal if the Gahlok themselves could ever be considererd a navy would mean Galhok Kal would be the five star admiral.or could the Bohrok kal also function as the Queens’ Royal Guards.
where do this misprints fit into this?
