But that isn’t canon at the moment, so it may not be final. I think Vakama as turaga may be final, but I can’t remember.
However, since this old team won’t go by their matoran names for long (if they’re not just referred to as “past Tahu”), then I think an important name like Vakama should be saved for someone with a bigger role. That’s if he’s not already used for that turaga.
Ah. I’ve been using pitches to influence my ideas, so I must have confused pitched with canon.
Because of that map, I always imagined Vakama in G3 as a legendary king (like Arthur Pendragon or Charlemagne), uniting the city-states of Mangai under a single ruler.
Actually, I had some thoughts during my dive home from work. I saw a pitch talking about the very first toa team, however, there is an issue with it. The very first toa would have been the original Tahu, Kopaka, etc. There would not have been a matoran to wear the mantle of Tahu, since it would have been the real Tahu. Once he died, then the Elemental Gods would keep his spirit to pass on to other matoran when needed.
This opens up using those characters (Lhikan, Krrakua, etc.) for this team. If you prefer that to the Av-Matoran, then that works too.
Although, that DOES end up killing the “Lesovikk is Bingzak” theory, unless Lesovikk and his team suffers the same fate later on. Meh. I’m sure something will work.
Since the first toa team would not have Tuyet in it, then they wouldn’t end up like that. It could still happen to this team, since they would be the ones to have Lhikan and the group. It would also fit better for the Bingzak idea, since it would only be a few hundred years ago instead of thousands of years ago. (Though I’m personally not too sold on Bingzak being a former toa at all.)
Using the names of the Toa @JediTimeLord824 picked but switching them to the ones who take the masks, as @UltimateMustacheX suggested, works incredibly well. Tuyet’s betrayal could be caused by a disagreement about taking the masks from the matoran, which instead of betrayal, could be looked at as a difference of opinion or even the defending of her peoples’ rights.
@Bokarda, if you need another set of Toa for a future pitch, I recommend maybe the other protectors from g2 as I don’t believe they’ve been used yet.
I would hold off on those, purely because the names stink compared to other G2 names, or G1 names. To be honest, I’d much sooner see the Makuta/Barraki names get used for toa before those protector names.
Just going over some of the potential from the Mahri Nui pitch.
Very. I think there’s a good way to tie this to the Barraki, as well.
The Barraki in @AntrozT6’s Mahri Nui pitch retain their warmongering natures, and they could be the ones that escalate the abuse of the Kanohi Masks to such an extreme, the Elemental Gods (Nuva) summon forth the Toa to deal with the threat. The Toa are chosen to confiscate the Kanohi Masks from the Barraki and seal them away (the masks in the Suva and the Barraki in prison), and then destroy the blueprints for the masks and the forges that were used to make them.
It was kind of a throwaway line in this pitch (which is overall very good and well thought out) but I really like the idea that the Elemental Lords are called the Nuva. Doubt the rest of the cast will agree with it, but I just thought that was really cool.
Thanks for the feedback, though! I’ve actually created an entire hub topic for various topics I’ve come across. Not sure how much of it you’ll like or use, but it’s there for the sake of brainstorming.
Maybe a “Toa Nuva” is a Toa completely in tune or maybe hosting the spirit of an elemental lord. I’m picturing it looking like Aang going full-on Avatar.
