Lariska, Dark Huntress

As described in Many death of Toa tuyet, Nidhiki was a Toa but frivolous, unscrupulous. I think that he also able to look down on others easy, and may also may has discriminatory against Vortixx-spiecies. :relieved:

I’ve liked your version of her since I first saw it, and it looks even nicer in its completed state. I’d happily take yours as the canon version (if I weren’t even fonder of the version I’m currently working on that is :stuck_out_tongue:)

This is a really fantastic build, and as usual the posability is insanely awesome. I really like the feet and the front of the head. You did an excellent job working teal into it despite the fact that I despise LEGO’s teal and will always regret Greg’s offhanded teal comment.

…However, I have to admit that the antlers are strange. They’re certainly unique, but I don’t really like the look and they don’t exactly say “Lariska” to me. Also, the robotic arm seems a bit thin. It sort of makes sense, but it kind of loses itself in the main build due to being understated.

Again, though, great work. I think I like the previous one better, but this is by no means poor.

My goal with the head was to get away from “generic female MOC” which my original still had going on with the “hair”. The antler thingies came to be because I had connection points left, they make the head look more interesting - and they’re poseable which can be used to make the head expressive to a degree. And of course I really like the look of it - but that’s definitely personal taste

I also went deliberately for a thin look here. For the future I might even look into making the other arm thinner as well. Lariska is a very acrobatic character, so a slim build is what I think fits for her. Also it’s actually stated in canon that her mechanical arm does not impede her at all, which is also something I considered while building the mechanical arm to be very unobtrusive.

Thanks for your feedback!

That’s a really cool Lariska. I hope TTV releases the Hagah polls too to share my Lariska too.

My entry will be in Studio but this is the closest I could get with my pieces. She seems to have around the same height as yours.

That definitely worked. I really do like the front of the head/mouth area. If it’s worth anything, I think the original head (including the hair) was also quite unique, but this one does stand out more.

The reasoning makes sense, but the mechanical arm seems… proportionally too small…? It’s not, really, I guess. I think it could avoid impeding her without being so thin compared to the rest of her, though.

Granted, I also have zero MOCing credentials, so this is all personal taste.

It looks tall but next to Nidhiki it isn’t that bad.
Question though, are those antennae considered an illegal connection?

Yes, since the “hands” can’t fully close.

Yeah, I also think they are.

I have tested it, though, and after more than a year of having it like that I can safely say that the connection doesn’t harm the droid arms. They still clip onto bars with perfect friction.

Stud.io is always a thing :grinning:

Nice moc. Was wondering something though. For the canon contest of Lariska would teal have to be a main colour? Or are they doing something similar to what they did with artakha?

We’ll have to see.

I’m prepared, though…
