Yes, I know this is posted very far in advance. But, since grad school is going to get very busy, I’m uploading it now! For Lariska, I went with a more simple build for her to keep a lean, athletic look.
Of course, like most people I had a distinct lack of teal pieces, but I realized that the Takadox armor was similar in hue, so I tried to make use of that. And since she is technically described as “dark teal”, I mixed in metru blue to make her appear darker overall.
Great, I would vote for this! The stature, colors and proportions are all on point. I also enjoy your color choice for the weapon, instead of going with the obvious silver.
My only critique is that there’s a few too many colours going on. The most obvious one is the lime; while the weapon is fine, the lime on her body doesn’t really work.
I do agree, this has more colors than I imagine for her final design, I imagine a lot of her would be recolored in the final art. My idea was to give her some lime highlights next to blue pieces to make her look more teal-ish overall.
The head and the torso build is really nice, but the legs…
Those digitigrade legs is where it all falls apart. The metru shins really don’t work here (Tip: try using a CCBS size 3 bone with a locked balljoint, similar to the ones found in Tahu 2015, Kopaka 2015, etc), and the lower, lower legs are too spindly and look like they can fall off at any time. Try adding some armor. Not too much though.
I like this MOC’s general form, but I’m not really a fan of the color scheme or the lower legs. Also… I guess the upper front two holes of a Vahki head aren’t supposed to be the eyes, but I always see them as such, and the Bohrok eyes are just too big for the head. I rather like the rest of the head, though.
Thanks for the feedback! I can try that out with the legs, although I’m not sure what ccbs armor would fit with the rest of her. I wanted to keep it to G1 parts if possible. Either way, I’ll try it out!
On an unrelated note, I just found out that the Lego bonsai set come with some teal parts, and a teal block separator. Not sure if I can work it in now, but anyone else looking to build Lariska might want to keep that in mind.
