LDD: Canyon Crusader Vehicle

I loved the vehicle sets that were released in the later years of Bionicle, I didn’t get many but I loved the concepts that they presented us with, massive battle machines for epic battles in the sky or vehicles like the one here for mad max style desert warfare. The one here is modeled similarly to the Thornatus, but bigger. I don’t have the parts to build such a set so I decided to try to model it or at least get a concept vehicle in LDD. I found a lot of issues, particularly because this isn’t built with actual bricks, its a lot harder to get an idea of look and fine tune the parts.

I hope you guys like this idea, there isn’t a lot I can do with it because of the restrictions and sometimes buggy behavior of LDD but criticism is welcome

The chassis is kinda fat, and doesn’t seem to have controls.

I love this so hard

Seems prettycool right now, I think it definitely needs some sort of paneling or system plates on it though.

Pretty cool, but needs some plating.

Looks great so far, definitely feels like something you’d see on Bara Magna.

Th creator said that It was built in style of the 09 Vehicles - they had hardly any system.

True it is in the style of the 09 vehicles, but primarily the reason is and this is the reasons for their being no controls or armour on the main chassis is because of LDD restrictions, I can’t visually get a feel for cockpit size so thats why it looks so bare.

The cockpit seems oversized.

I reckon it will sit multiple pilots, one for driving, the others for weapons or defense, think of the mad max war rig because it has to function similar to that.

looks real nice

This is pretty cool and looks a lot like the Thornatus. Would be worth making a pilot and trying to see how he’d fit in there, then build around him. I’m no stranger to building Bionicle vehicles in LDD and real-life, and cockpit design has to be the toughest part to get right, either in terms of dimensions or paneling. But stick with it and try your best. Plus, it’s not like the Thornatus had that many controls in the first place.

That’s true and that’s a great idea, thanks a lot however talking about pilots, would you suggest armouring them or leaving them simple like Perditius?
