Lego Fortnite Topic

Haven’t seen one of these yet so I figured I’d make it. Basically, what are y’all’s thoughts on Lego Fortnite? Specifically the Lego video game, not the sets or the hypothetical “what if there were Lego skins.”

“Recently,” Lego started collaborating with Fortnite in a few different ways, most notably “Lego Fortnite” the game. I think the Fortnite term for it is that Lego Fortnite is an “experience,” which means that it’s something beyond the base game (or something like that, I really don’t know).

I enjoy the game quite a bit. It’s pretty different-feeling from regular Fortnite, especially the pacing - it’s pretty laidback unless you’re fighting a boss, and there aren’t constant threats that force you to progress at a pace faster than you would like. The building is also a highlight for me. While not perfectly identical to building a physical Lego set, there is a good selection of prefab construction parts you can mix and match to make your own builds.

I also like that Lego Fortnite doesn’t needlessly pander to pop culture. While your character will get reskinned to be a Lego minifigure and you can play songs on the jukebox, that’s about as far as it goes. The rest is all its own aesthetic.

I have not entered into the realm of Fortnite, nor this extension into LEGO.

However, viewing a few videos on the subject, it seems something interesting.
Now, imagine if there existed an addition into Classic Space, Pirate, or Castle themes?

Actually, this might be an avenue into once again revisiting the LEGO Battles style of game play…

I’ve played it a little on a friend’s computer alongside the original Fortnite (zero prior experience with either game) and it seems interesting, very different to the regular game. Didn’t get me interested in regularily playing it, but it’s unqiue.

I really dig the look of this Mecha Team Leader set that was just revealed.

I won’t be buying it since it’s way out of my budget and I don’t care about it that much, but I still love how it looks. It’s a really unique hodgepodge of different aesthetics that just works in a way, and the colors are awesome.

Almost makes me wish it was a Megazord style combining robot like the Golion set from a few years ago…

Edit:

Whoopsie I forgot about that, sorry!

Lettuce include the brick-built mech in a petition for its inclusion within the LEGO Game mode.
