I feel the need to point out that this is the 10th official Tahu model. (Including combiners but discounting things like golden armour, power up master and McMistika).

Mata
Nuva
Volcano Knight (inspiration model 4)
Mistika
Stars
Master
‘Special’
Uniter
‘Two Toa’
And now Tabrick.

I definitely didn’t expect this but as the day has gone by and all the silly memes and replicas have been spreading like wildfire, I think this is an amazing idea as well as a great way to honor all the major players. Sure it may seem that we got duped a bit but I’ll take it with stride and I’ll be definitely supporting this set. This goofy little bonk has stolen my heart.

I find it very interesting that they chose a generic police station to represent the mid/late 2000s and not a Racers, Exo-Force, Aquazone, Mars Mission, Agents, or Space Police III set. Agents had more memorable sets than 2005 City. 8634 Mission 5: Turbocar Chase would’ve been my pick to represent the mid/late 2000s.

I think it was chosen because it’s the first City police station, and you know how many of those they’ve made.

Yeah, that’s probably it, though there were Town police stations from 1979 onward that preceded this one that are pretty much the same, the only thing that changed was the branding from “Town” to “City” and the integration of fewer large, juniorized parts after the early 2000s.

I’m going to have to disagree with that last part. As an owner of that 2005 police station, it’s still very juniorised, despite appearing somewhat regular from the outside.

The walls are made almost entirely of these parts, with there actually not being walls in certain areas of the building:

The floors are just a bunch of these:

And the windows on the main tower are these massive single pieces:

Even the helicopter’s rotors are just one piece:

Allow me to clarify, fewer large, juniorized pieces overall (compared to every piece in each respective set) than the jack stone and town jr stations. The 2005 station has cheese slopes, snot pieces, friction pins, and a better variety of small detail pieces like the 1x1 plate w/ horizontal clip that make it slightly more advanced despite still containing huge pieces.

I just noticed it says “2004” next to Bionicle even though it has a 2001 set

That says 2001, it’s just a weird font.

I am very glad that BIONICLE once again appears in set form. Other models are also excelent. I especialy like the Sphinx. I know it is likely from Adventurers, but I like to imagine that it is from Pharaoh’s Quest. I love that theme, and especialy the game.

When I think about it, this would be really easy and effortless way for LEGO to do a BIONICLE “reboot” without actualy doing a G3. Just make a box of pieces like this, but all builds are related to BIONICLE, not just one. Not only characters, but also few things like huts, Kini-Nui, Rahi, a Toa Canister, and so on. BIONICLE fans would love that BIONICLE came back in some way, and for others, it is still a box of pieces that can be used to build what they like.

The googly Bionicle are slowly growing on me. I think it would be glorious to have an entire Classic set with Bionicle Minis. One giant bin from which a ton of characters could be build would be ingenious.

He is the ultimate craftsman in the entire MU
…and he’s cross-eyed. I love everything about this lol.

I’ll never accept this as a official lego portrayal. They didn’t even consider selling the Toa Mata in polybags at least.
They just shoved Tahu into a really expensive set just to make him hard to get and with terrible eyes.

at least it’s something! it’s lego officially representing Bionicle in 2022, something we have been screaming for for years.
I personally think it’s really great to see lego honouring a classic and beloved theme.

you can build him with existing pieces though.
