I want to spite AFOLs everywhere who find Castle boring. It is for a greater cause. Lego Castle has had some of the best LEGO sets ever IMO.
It’s also a foundational line for LEGO. Why not represent it with their 90th anniversary?

The thing with castle is that LEGO will probably make a castle set anyway, sooner or later. The Baracuda bay set, for example is basically a modern continuation of the classic pirates theme. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they made a similar set, but for castle.
That’s why I’m going to vote for Bionicle, in addition to Ice Planet, Time Cruisers, Rock Raiders, or some other unique theme. Those themes had very distinct looks, characters, and stories, that LEGO probaby won’t ever return to, unlike Castle.
This 90th anniversary thing is a special opportunity to bring back something from the past, and to me, it seems like a waste to vote for something that LEGO will most likely do anyway.

I mean, I’ve voted for BIONICLE too. But I just see so much disrespect for the line from AFOLs who stan Ninjago hard and I really want to see some proper love returned to Lego Castle.
If not, give us another Castle theme that is like the 2006-2007 line that was high fantasy. That stuff was excellent.

Hmm well, castle is one of the evergreen themes, so it is bound to appear sooner or later.

I just now watched @Eljay’s speech, and it was fantastic (though I didn’t need him to convince me, since I already voted, but I still enjoyed the speech).
I voted for Classic Castle as well, but Bionicle must win.

I guess I didn’t consider this earlier, but now I realized BIONICLE winning would spite the boring AFOL crowd who hate it even more. I just want an evergreen, foundational theme to win, instead of elitist AFOLs. (Admittedly I am an AFOL as well but dang some in the community bother me by their BIONICLE and Castle hatred.)

I doubt that if Bionicle wins, they’d make a Bionicle set in the same style as the g1 toa, titans, rahi, etc… It would require them to bring back a lot of old molds. I expect that if Bionicle wins, they’ll either choose not to do it, or they’ll make a system based set, possibly representing an old character or location. If that’s the case, I think that a giant system/technic GSR set would be cool.

I think this is a very good point to think about. It isn’t the 90th anniversary of rock raiders or m-tron or an of the ranges that have made up Lego’s range of products over the years. It’s the 90th anniversary of the company and they’re doing this vote out of goodwill.
I think a set that sums up all of Legos products or at least most peoples interests, thus one of the foundational ranges does kind of make sense as the choice. I think a reimagined town house set from 1978 would be pretty cool, with references to many other ranges scattered inside it such as the tv playing that cursed time cruisers ad.
This is still way to difficult to decide on!
