After that whole debacle about LEGO making sets where people are drilling in the arctic, I’m not surprised.
Whatevs. I never really cared for companies doing stuff like this.
But if they develop enviro-plastic or whatever, does that mean they’ll bring Canisters back?!
That would be the worst, not only would biodegradeable plastic probably cost more, but canisters would also bring down piece count immensly.

I remember hearing about this at least one or two years ago. I think LEGO is aiming change the material to some sort of resin by 2030.
The real question now is if the new bricks will work with the old ones without any problems.
I cant decide if this is good or bad?

It seems like the article doesn’t talk about it being environmentally-friendly and more being foot-friendly. Seems Ludacris that people think this is LEGO’s fault when really you just need to clean up a bit.

I’m not sure about this. The old plastic works just fine, and the only reason I can think of to actually make the change is if the biodegradable plastic saves Lego money.
That’s kind of false. LEGO has been trying to become more Eco-Friendly over the years, like dropping their Shell deal, making the Boxes more compact, etc. They really want to be a brand that is not killing the world, but making its residence happy. Also, I don’t know where this Biodegradable mumbo jumbo is coming from. Could you please provide a link?

Yeah, I’ve never heard biodegradable before. The BZP article where I first found out about this just said they are putting something like 1.3 Billion into this project.

The boxes for bionicle sets are environment friendly already so not really.

Yah; people were complaining about how it was too thin, but it really did cut the amount of cardboard by about 2/3s.

What I’m saying is bringing back plastic canisters would reduce piece count; see @VictorianPanda 's comment above mine.

Sorry I meant @Neowulf I’ve just had panda on my head 'cuz she trolls all day long. Anytime I hear something that I don’t personally agree with I think of her, it’s not a good thing for either of us.
