While it has been confirmed that Makuta can only use one Kraata power at a time does this apply to their non kraata based powers? I ask because while Teridax was shapeshifting in Metru Nui he also used his shadow hand power. Which is an example of a Makuta using two unrelated powers at once. So does this mean that the one power at a time limit does not apply to non kraata based powers?
This was one of the reasons they had “redundant” Kanohi powers, so yes. And as you said, Teridax used his Shadow Hand simultaneously, that should also be proof enough.
Correct amswer. I remember it too.
Despite that answer Teridax was shapeshifting into a much bigger form which the Kanohi of illusions can not do and his mask of shadows can not grant the Makuta’s ability of a shadow hand. In other words he was using two powers that neither were Kanohi based at the same time.
Yup–So again, you are answering your own question there.
By process of elimination, it has to refer to Kraata Powers, as we have an example of him using his Shadow-elemental powers at the same time.
I am specifically asking Mr. Farshtey for confirmation about this.
Actually, I don’t think the shapeshifting example matters in this case. Makuta use the power to change shape, but once it’s done, they don’t need to concentrate anymore. This is one of the things that separates Makuta’s from the Mahiki’s.
But the Kanohi example is proof enough that Makuta can use a Kraata power and non-Kraata power (such as Kanohi) at once. If you’re asking whether the Shadow Hand specifically can be used with a Kraata power, I don’t think it was ever stated.
We’re referring to when he was still absorbing to do his shapeshifting, after the Makuta-is-Dume reveal. Although I suppose it can be questioned if he only shapeshifted after finishing absorbing.
That scene in the movie was just…so visually confusing. Last I checked, neither Shadow Hand nor shapeshifting can turn you into a giant red tornado. Was it not just the Shadow Hand, but the Shadow power in general? Was it his free antidermis mid changing shape (even though antidermis is green)? Unless the novelization clears it up, I still don’t think it can be used as evidence either way.
Unfortunately, Greg very rarely posts on the boards or answers these questions. The answers from the others in this topic are likely to be the best you’ll get. You could get lucky, though.
