Makuta Teridax redesign (810nicle day drawing by NOTaHFfan)

Wooooo my first bionicle drawing in… a million years it seems

Recently I randomly got an idea for a Makuta Teridax redesign and I did a quick drawing of it

It also just so happens that Bionicle Day was yesterday (I completely forgot), so I’m going to pretend that this drawing was made for it and I’m just slightly late with posting it don’t tell anyone

This design is based on the fact that Terry’s official designs (both the movie and the 2003 toy) are boring in my opinion. He is a shapeshifting demigod, why does he choose to be a big humanoid with chicken legs?

Here he consists of a head, neck and upper torso supported by countless shadow hands.

Also, the G1 mask of shadows looks like the G2 mask of ultimate power concept because I like that design more (yes, fake fan, I know). And the sphere behind his back is a tridax pod. I know that Terry never had one in the story, but we’re so far from canon with this design at this point that it’s doesn’t really matter I think…

Well, that’s it for now, please tell me what you think!

Well, Makuta take on certain forms to frighten people, but when you’re only trying to frighten human nine-year-olds just enough to not get sued, you pull your punches. Lame and sad as it were. also if I approached you on a huge pair of chicken legs you’d flip your lid for sure

Yours is really cool though. Just humanoid enough to take advantage of familiarity, while the rest of his form jars me from that comfort zone. The raggedy clothing really ties the look together too, icing on the cake. And the floating parts behind him are a lovely addition and reference to the early classic form.

Totally true and I don’t respect you at all because of it /s, however I do think that mask was a great choice. I think the concentric spikes act as a good visual counterweight to the flay of arms pouring from his undercarriage. Idk the fancy shmancy art term for this but that recurring structure on either end really frames him well, in my opinion.

Also it’s just fun to have G1/G2/fan design crossovers. And I like fun

This is so sick! I love all the different elements woven in.

Many hands for many puppets.

Great, and I sort of agree on the G2 Mask of Power.

Putting the moup on g1 Makuta, 0/10

Nice, very eldritch horror. He sure has a lot of feet, I wonder if they’re ticklish?
