That was a wild ride from conception to completion. The first sketch of mine got souped, the corector was used way too much and I almost gave up on this because I procrastinate too much.
But here it is, in all its rusted red glory, none other than Marendar, sapping energy from black ops grandma.
As you can see, this is NOT designed for any particular set interpretation of Marendar out here on the boards, because it’s so stylised. But I’m cool with people using it as a rough template for its MOC.
As for the design process, this drawing is a perfect excuse to buy new set of colored pencils and test it (Astra’s metallic-colored pencils)
This is really good. Scale aside, I could totally see this as being Marendar. I like how it just looks really powerful without trying to incorporate any kind of specialized weapon.
Jk, this is pretty cool! If anything, this just proves that this is an awesome pose for Marendar and that Greg made a critical error in deciding he should be Toa-sized instead of MASSIVE.
