Mask Stand-Ins

If there was a canon mask of some sort that wasn’t released, I usually use a stand-in (unless I can afford a 3D printed one.) For example, I represent the G2 MOT with the BA Breeze helmet. If you have any, share below.

Technically, any mask can stand in for anything since the shape of the mask doesn’t affect the power.

I like to use knockoff or bootleg masks as stand-ins for masks that are canon but never got made into actual parts.

Does that mean 3D printed masks or something from a set like this…

I’d say generally from bootleg sets. Printed masks are far from official, but at least they were designed with the system in mind. Bootlegs, generally, have like a pin/axle, and are just sort of “dehhhh slap it on there make the big bucks”.

Something like these

Someone is already using them for unique moc looks.

Also custom colored and shaped masks help like these.

Yeah, when I’m making a Moc, a good moc comes first, story comes second. If I can, I’ll try to give my moc the right mask, or at least one that look like it, unless it’s one of my own masks, in which case I just give it something random.

I’ve used
Stringer’s 1.0 helmet as a Faxon.
Rocka’s 4.0 helmet as an Akaku
The Shortrooper helmet as a Komau.
And probably others I’m forgetting.
