Matoran Gaardus + General Matoran Design

This has been stalled out for a few months, but I just finished this build recently:

This is meant to represent Gaardus when he was a Matoran, taking colour cues from certain parts of his mutated form.

Angles

He is also capable of holding a sword:

I will admit that the colour scheme is a bit busy, but I was limited both by the colours of the original design and the desire to make the model purist (which it is).

After finishing the design, however, I noticed that the chunkiness of the build might be better suited for Elements such as Stone, Earth, or Iron. I also took the opportunity to make some cleaner colour schemes.

This Po-Matoran is a 1:1 recolour of Gaardus, just with a different mask:

For the two Matoran below (Earth and Iron, respectively), I made some modifications to the design. Note that the upper arms (and thighs, which are basically identical) have some funky building techniques which rely on specific parts, so there’s not a ton of room for modification without a complete redesign:

For the Onu-Matoran, his neck was dropped down, and his shoulders, forearms, and hands were bulked up:

For this Fe-Matoran, I went for the Pohatu-style torso, and I think it works pretty well:

Note that the upper arms are in a different orientation, though they’re still mostly the same build.

Overall, I’m more interested in feedback on the general design, but I’d also like to get some thoughts on the specific Matoran.

The torsos are pretty good for a Matoran.
And Gaardus looks better than the combiner does. Which is not really hard, but still
I like the Fe-Matorans upside-down torso, that’s always fun to see.

I love that you’re using the HF masks you designed a few months ago. They look great!

To be fair, it’s also meant to be his non-mutated form.

What do you mean by this? Recolours?
