(Bionicle Canon Contest #2: Meet the Maker) Artakha Arrives Artwork

Right at the last minute, here is my entry for the Meet the Maker contest, depicting Artakha as he arrives in the Core Processor chamber in “Reign of Shadows”. Seemed an appropriate scene to take inspiration from as that’s the first look any of the characters get at him. I’ll provide some more background information on the piece in an update later on, as I am currently running late for work right now! UPDATE (4th November 2020): As the polls are now open, seems like a good time to finally be adding that background information I promised, if anyone’s interested that is. Starting with the runes on the body, I knew I didn’t want them covering the whole body because I didn’t want them to overpower the design. The Creator: Artakha Artwork

[Bionicle comp] [Bionicle comp mask] This is my submission for the Artakha Art Contest. I was heavily inspired by the original build’s already present mask design done by KhingK. I took the most outstanding details from the build and interpreted it in my own way, adding runes on the grey-green armor sections. I really liked the crown design on his initial mask, so I wanted to implement something similar to my own illustration of the mask while also adding mild references to the Great Spirit stone from the three side divots and line running down the center of the mask; additionally he was referenced to be able to be rather imposing in his few appearances, and with his mask representing multiple cultures in universe it was styled to reflect elements akin to the Avohkii and Kraahkan for th…

Artakha The Arcane (Meet the Maker Contest Part 2 Entry) Artwork

[Artakha the Arcane] This is my entry for the Meet the Maker Canon Contest. The mask that I used was designed by KhingK, Here is the 3D model: This was so fun to draw! I don’t think I’ve put this much effort into an art piece before in my life and as such I think this is my most detailed work yet! My main idea with this drawing was to make Artahka’s Armor a similar texture to oxidized copper to give him a more regal appearance as well as showing his age. I still made it subtle enough to ignore if you really wanted to though. The runes were also fun to design. There aren’t that many of them but there is a reason for that.
