Quick intro:
Meku is a MOC I made a while ago, and is a key player in the fanfic I am writing. Below is a poster I put together in Photoshop (I had to make resolution much worse so I could upload it though) and a full biography of this character.
Naturally, since it goes through Meku’s entire life, there are spoilers to some of the story, but most of it is either something you could guess, or not of significant importance.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
Meku is one of the most skillful combatants known in the Primary Dimension. Her beginning and most of her life were in the Uone and Ione border. Any of the border regions are violent and dangerous, and even more so to a newly formed being.
Her creation was in an abandoned cave long thought empty of power reserves which gave her a bit of luck to start with. As well as having a safe home, she had a natural talent for combat and most other physical activities.
For 200 Primary Years she gained skill and experience. However, Meku never had a chance to gain or develop her elemental power, magnetism and fire (Shadows too), because she could never let her guard down. So while most people can simply go into stasis and pack away a few hundred years and become more powerful at the same time, Meku was forced to live day to day, and as a result her power remained at a low level. When the second Great War began about a hundred Primary Years later, she sided with the Uonians and Trionians. While in the war, Meku was deployed for the majority of the time mostly because she was from a poorly regarded area and not considered a valuable asset. This continued for the next couple hundred years (200 years of fighting!) until it began to reach its climax and seeing that whoever won, little would change in favor of her and that it wasn’t worth risking her life for. Meku deserted the Allied millitary, and returned home. Surprisingly, Meku’s hometown had become rather peaceful due to every able bodied warrior leaving town. Unfortunately, after the war ceased, people began going back to their old lives and for Meku, this meant her hometown would be going back to the way it used to be: miserable, violent and full of death. After almost another fifty years, when The Merging occurred, Meku came to land on Eremus Noctae where she took up the Gladiator position and fit right in.
After twenty-some years, when Meku had allotted fame, credit and many other valuable goods she acquired along the way, she was pitted against Athdrivar who, at the time, she had never met.
While after the fight, her record of never losing a match was still unbroken, she could tell Athdrivar was no simple gladiator and made up her mind to speak with him. This was when Meku learned of Shivek and the Council of Primary Beings, and became involved in war against them. As time went on, Meku joined part of Scrosh’s team and became very close to Athdrivar.
As time moved forward, Meku traveled on a mission to Materax Island on Noctae Aquaria to convince Tahkrar, a Matera with considerable sway over the other materax and vorta, to help fight against the Council of Primary Beings.
Matera Disguise:
While there, she conducted the training of the Materax and Vorta. During this time, Keedop sent Meku a vial containing a solution capable of disguising her Proto Matter as Stermite (the life force of all Materax) to help her pass as a Matera to the monitors sent by the Council of Primary Beings. After completing the Materax and Vorta’s training, Meku returned to Scrosh’s hideout where she briefly met with a mysterious Shale with the power to create who at this point had humorously been nicknamed “Soc” for Shale of Creation.
Also during this brief time, Meku got her old armor back which Keedop had modified to function more efficiently. He also did this with her gun.
Shortly after, Mist broke in and destroyed just about everything in the area, while most everyone including Meku got out, Scrosh and Rah remained inside to hold off Mist.
After Mist left, Scrosh’s body was in pieces and his Lesser Kraahkan lay broken on the ground, Rah’s body was in a similar state. After a brief funeral, Meku brought Soc to Keedop’s space lab on the outer rim of the Alkanis System where she officially met with Kraahkan, Keedop and a few others.
While the shale began his work with Keedop and Kraahkan, Meku was sent to New Aetheria to check in on Steam. This only happened after a reasonable amount of time during which Meku had the chance to get to know everyone at the lab.
When Meku found Steam, he and his troops, who’d mostly been with him since the the end of the second Great War, were engaged with a group of Primary Beings that were guarding an outpost, after they defeated the group, Meku was filled in on the stats. Apparently, Steam had been rampaging around with his “band of merry men” skirmishing and raiding the Great Beings whenever and wherever they could, and since Meku had nowhere else to be, she joined up with Steam and his troops. Some time passed before Meku did anything else, so she had a chance to interact with Steam and the troops. However, when the Council’s defeat was almost certain, strange rumors of powerful beasts on planets orbiting distant star systems caught Steam’s attention and he left to find the other gods.
Meku and the troops went back to Eremus Noctae to join up with Athdrivar and the others that were in Meku’s team. Since the Primary Beings had the gods and other factions to fight, their presence was minimal on Eremus at this point making it the ideal place for refugees. This paired Meku back with Athdrivar who was helping to aid the refugees. As the process of housing refugees continued Meku received word that the Council was planning a strike on Eremus and that the gods would be engaged and unable to help. With few choices, evacuation not being one as there were too many people, Meku began to distribute weapons to all the able bodied refugees and coordinated with the shale gladiators to help evacuate and hide those unable to fight. Fortunately distribution and evacuation was done before the attack and the aid of the refugees was enough to repel the Council’s first attack. That was pretty much the last battle Meku participated in. However, after the defeat of the current Council of Great Beings and the Original four Council members, Meku continued to be an honorary gladiator and worked with Athdrivar, Soc and a few others as a group.
Character and Personality:
In her years in the Halda Ronya universe, Meku had a harsh, cold attitude mostly kindled by the same attitude being displayed by anyone else in her hometown. Since it was impossible to find necessary supplies without having to fight for them, Meku always kept the cold exterior. When she became a gladiator, Meku began to open up to people more and more because while Eremus Noctae wasn’t the nicest place, it was more friendly than her home. By the time Meku was pitted with Athdrivar, she had become a more or less approachable person. When she went on her mission to Materax Island, Meku had become highly extraverted and welcomed personal interaction. Her last major development was with Steam when she gained her military experience and expertise from observing Steam make plans against Council outposts.
Equipment and Appearance: (I know there are photos, but since I didn’t build what Meku looked like at the beginning of the storyline, I’ll describe it here)
Meku at first had a rather stocky figure, her legs were slightly too short for her body. She was always a little taller than her average opponents and had a fairly consistent armor layout. Her main colors were black, red and bits of silver (however, when she was on Makuta Island her colors were black, grey and a few different shades of brown). Her first mask was a mask of regeneration, and behind it, she had a pair of yellow-green eyes that glimmered glossily in the day and glowed a tone brighter than the bioluminescent glow of the creatures in the depths of Noctae Aquaria at night.
Before being a gladiator, Meku carried a double ended spear which, sometime into her years as a gladiator, she had remade into a single blade with a long handle. Also during her gladiator years, Meku got an upgrade to her knee joint making her slightly taller and much more agile. Some time after she met Athdrivar, and was still in the gladiator position, Athdrivar manufactured a gun similar to his own, which was created by Keedop, and gave it to Meku as a gift.
Just before going to Materax Island, Meku got a variety of modifications to her body; these were all designed by Keedop to ensure she would appear just like any other Matera (Despite Noctae Aquaria being mostly covered with water, Materax Island was covered in a lot of mud. To fit in, Keedop designed Meku’s disguise with brown in it). After her mission to Meterax Island was completed, she got her old armor back which had the same modifications as her Matera armor but took her old appearance and functioned more efficiently. The last upgrade she had installed was during her time with Steam’s troops, she installed two small guns to her forearms for quick use, the barrel extensions could be removed for better wrist articulation and could be attached to the barrel of the gun Athdrivar gave her to increase its accuracy and still have little effect on the output of the gun, unlike its original barrel.
