Hello, fellow cultists of the Boards! I’ve seen quite a few people make Exo Toa for the minifigure Tahu, but my biggest problem with them is that they are TWICE the size they are supposed to be, in terms of minifigure scale. Minifigure scale is a little loose, but from what I’ve observed, the Exo Toa I made should be roughly the correct size for Tahu. Without further ado, I present my take on the minifigure scale Exo Toa!
Without the pilot (Sentry mode)
And then there is Pilot Mode, which you have all been waiting for!
There is also weapon storage, unlike the original.
Like the original, the Sentry Mode has a large gap in the side where the Toa would go. I don’t own the original, so I don’t know whether or not the legs are limited with the Toa inside, but for this model, the minifigure legs lock the Exo Toa’s.
Due to the scale, this model reworks the cockpit feature. Instead of the thighs dropping down as pedals, they open like doors to contain the feet. Also, the cockpit opens upward instead of dropping down. The three pieces of silver armor that were located at the cockpit, shoulders, and biceps are simplified to one silver part. To better represent the silver armor at the cockpit, I would change out the pair of Black 11090 (I memorized the part number) for Flat Silver ones.
Another sacrifice due to scale would be the claw arm, which no longer has a function. In addition to its loss in functionality, it was also simplified to have one claw instead of two.
While this model tries to use parts that are currently in production, it uses one discontinued part. Part 15403 was discontinued in 2021 and was replaced by 69754, which doesn’t come in black.
If you’re wondering why I’m so serious, my cat pooped and then puked, which humbled me as I cleaned both.
And that is my version of the Exo Toa! I hope you guys like it! Leave your opinions in the comments!
Bomastic criticisms are welcome.
