After much turmoil (five months of work to get to this point ;-;), I finally found a form I like for Ekorak. His story has changed, too, featuring a completely original story (meaning not bound to BIONICLE) which meshes with City of the Fallen, my upcoming stopmotion series.
The last version, the one that can be found on my “MOC Topic,” was more a working version. I wasn’t very satisfied. I liked the concept, but I just felt it didn’t fit the character I was going for, and at the same time I liked the direction it was going, and didn’t want to completely scrap him.
So here’s the newest version. I am not 100% satisfied, but I still much prefer it to the old ones. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for looking!
Before anyone asks, yes, I am aware that I used a white fist on his chest similar to @Shadowgear6335’s Self-MOC, Minion. What, I liked the design! Credit for the idea for that goes to him.
This MOC is the perfect combination of simplicity and complexity. That chest design, which looks good on this MOC, is integrated well into the torso,
My favorite bit are the lower legs. Not even just the front armor placement but the construction itself looks durable and compact.
The only issue I have is the elbow placement on the arms. Too high up for my taste. But, eve if you were make the upper arm longer, it would ruin the proportions, so I don’t blame you for doing it how you did.
@Shadowgear6335
Thanks! The lower legs are also my favorite part, and also the only part that has stayed around since the original version five months ago. The design is very durable, being centered around an axle, rather than System or Technic.
The elbows do indeed bother me at times. I put them like that because of how the upper legs are in comparison to the lower legs, which is just something I did on a whim and to prevent him from looking super awkward with stupidly long legs.
Also, if anyone gives you a hassle about Minion looking feminine with that chest…just link this. It’s far worse XP
@Nyran
Yeah. The whole head is actually representing his helmet, which he would be wearing over a more serpent like head. While the white may not look quite so flush, it’s a throwback to the original version from almost exactly one year ago, and also because having it in black looks pretty darn ugly with the other white on him.
“So ekorak, you have attainted control of chaos and unity, ying and yang, black and white. A monochrome being. Pray tell, what next shall become of you?” ~ Jemoph
But seriously, This guy looks nice. However I was used to your old black and silver, and surprised you turned monochrome. The moc itself is very good. I think it’s perfect for you!
@tahtorak
Good. I was aiming for a strong yet agile look. I guess this means I didn’t do too badly :3
@JMP I went monochrome because, well, the old black and silver just didn’t really seem like something from a military. Ekorak is just one in a thousand soldiers. One of the points was for him to look kinda generic, like there could be armies of people just like him, and monochrome works well for that.
checks “rain on Ekorak’s parade” off the list
Seriously though, I’d like to see the white spread out better. Less focus on the ankles and forearms. Still hold my prior opinions on the torso.
No, they aren’t. He’s not a human. He’s a Predorai. They have short upper limbs and longer lower limbs.
It’s colorblocked. It’s not meant to be anywhere else. That’s why it’s on the lower arms and lower legs, only one spot on the torso, and part of his head.
Red and white? Those are colors of evil when combined
A very nice MOC if I do say so. Looks very agile and limber with the torso design and arms (may I steal that torso?). I also enjoy the club you gave him.
Indeed. One of the concepts for my story is that the protagonists look evil and the antagonists look angelic
Thank you! You are welcome to use the torso if you give just a bit of credit and also if you can manage to figure it out (which isn’t that hard, it’s only nineteen pieces, not counting the waist). His weapon, however, is actually not a club. It’s based off of the Needler, or Type 33 Guided Munitions Lancher, from Halo.
