Mocs from the vaults

Once again I find myself extra motivated to post here, so here I am.

I’ll start with three Mocs that go together

The story behind these characters went something along the lines of, “the small one with the crown was a prince trying to get back to his kingdom to take the throne, and the other two were meant to guard him” or something along those lines. Also, part of why the big one looks so weird is because he could carry the small one like so:

I would like to mention here that these photos were taken back in September of 2022, but the Mocs themselves are much older than that. Anyway, next up is one that had a cool concept but terrible execution:

As you can see, the goal behind this character was to put a light brick in their chest. Also, they have a blue electricity arm thingy because the were based on (and named after) Jek-14, the Lego Star Wars character. There’s a long story behind why I made this specific iteration of a Jek-14 moc, but suffice it to say I really liked Jek-14 when he came out (though I never actually owned any of his minifigures).

Next up we have this … thing

I made him because of the weapons, specifically the gun, though the swords were also part of it too. I remember at the time I made this I had a lot of other characters built and was really running low on pieces, especially non-broken bones.

These next two I’m fairly proud of, as they at least have some cool concepts going for them. In fact, I’m still using the head from on of them.

Though you can’t see it very well, the body construction on this character, while a bit unstable, was pretty clever, and overall I think he’s kinda cool.

This one is probably my favorite out of all of these Mocs, as (at least from the waist up) he has a lot of cool techniques built into him, especially his eyes. This one and the one before were also made because I had a cool weapon and wanted to give it to someone cool.

Well, that’s it for this post. If my motivation holds up (and I don’t give in to the allure of One Piece) I’m sure there will be more in the near future, so look forward to that. Most of the Mocs just get better from here. C&C welcome, but not really relevant. Have a good day!

I most certainly will! Always fun seeing someone’s old (or oldish) MOCs.

well once again I find myself wanting to do some batch critique/review

the issue with the big guy is a dissonance between the torso - which is functionally meant to carry the pilot - and the legs, which use lithe humanoid designs. I think a set of shorter, stockier limbs could better match the stocky aesthetic in the torso. Not too much to report on the other two guys except that dark red/keetorange is a pretty pleasing color scheme.

I was originally thinking that arm was more watery due to the smoother shapes. For an electric arm - the obvious solution is of course the electric blade-y pieces from Hero Factory, but with just the pieces provided I wonder if it would be better to build a solid color CCBS arm to attach the small trans-blue CCBS pieces off of.

Lots of shades of green here, plus some random brown. I feel like you could either take away the trans-neon and give him a solid forest ranger appearance; or alternatively take away the other greens and brown and go for toxic vibes.

I think this guy is the best because he makes me ask questions about his story. Where did he get his hat from? Why is his mace pink, and his face green? Why does his chest armor look feminine even though you used he/him?

The torso looks quite solid. Similar to the first guy he’d need some heavier legs to match.
