See, these aren’t really aliens, though, even though that’s what I set out to draw. They’re more like evolved versions of modern animals. The shark, I imagine, was forced deep into the ocean, where it had to develop a shell to withstand the high pressures, as well as protect from larger predators. It also evolved bioluminescence to attract prey, as well as multiple eyes for greater vision. Along with these, it grew a second set of fins to increase its manoeuvrability in the deeper waters.I call it the Samurai Shark, or Selachimorpha Armis.
The crab, on the other hand, grew to enormous sizes and became a biome for smaller creatures, like the tree like barnacles that live on its back that feast on on unsuspecting birds that land on them. It has grown a second set of claws for defense from other crabs when fighting for a mate, as well as being back ups in case it loses one or both it’s primary claws. It also has eight eye stocks, four in the front, one on either side, and two in the back, giving it 360 degree vision, allowing it to spot predators and prey alike. This creature is an omnivore, eating mainly vegetation from the sea floor (which it picks up with it’s tentacle like limbs) and small fish, although it will occasionally take on bigger prey. It has few natural predators due to its size. I call it the Goliath Crab, or Brachyura Giganticus
