Toa Mangai was formed by a team led by Lhikan and several other Toa members.
But Naho’s profile hasn’t almost unrevelated, so we can only release each headcanon.
In my Headcanon, Naho isn’t the original member of the Lhikan’s team, but Toa, who first encountered them at Metru Nui.
(This is the reason of her armor doesn’t looks like with Lhikan’s and his original teammates’ the Metru-like armor)
I have misplaced the handle of Sheld in photos, but the correct one is the one with it facing upwards
She carrying the Assault Shield as toa tool, which can fire her Rhotuka, and able to used as melee weapon with its two blade on the top.
Plus, it can works as a auto-floatboard which allows her to swim on the surface with incredible speed and almost silencely.
She used this when she sneaks through the Dark Hunter lines in the Toa-DarkHunter War.
The shape of her chest and leg armor is inspired by the shape of the tip and chassis of the boat used by Matoran and others to cross the perimeter of “Naho Falls,” which Vakama and Turaga named in honor of her.
And his is may a coincidence, but I found a common aesthetic with the technique panel used at the tip of boat and the Mask.
Also unlike Tuyet, I thinks she had a real kindness to Matorans and teammate, and nature-loving Toa, so I gave kanohi to her which allows her to more harmony with nature: The Mask of Sensory Aptitude.

The mask is probably the only thing I don’t like because of how weird it looks. That’s just a minor nitpick though, the moc is awesome!
At first, I also felt uncomfortable when I saw this mask(just until before building this), but after thinking about it, I realized that it was probably because I saw this mask after seeing the finely sculpted designs of Huna and Mahiki from MetruNui, and Calix and Kadin from VoyaNui.
As a result, I asked myself, “If I had seen this at MataNui saga with Pakari, Miru, Noble Rau, etc., could I have been able to feel comfortable with it?” This self-questioning resolved my sense of discomfort.
In addition, I noticed that the shape is similar to the technic panel, as described in the explanation, so I adopted this one.
However, there are some masks that I just can’t shake the feeling of discomfort from, so I understand what you’re saying!
(or rather, I was until recently. And I will not say which is the ‘discomfort mask’ to me, for board’s peace )

Hmmm … As for me, I liked this choice, but if more than 3 people gave me such an opinion (Include Ghid), I guess I need to train my own aesthetic sense more.
(Although, I simply love the setting that gave Naho MoSA, so the fruits of my training will be the next MOC!)

I imagined Kaukau at first too, but I didn’t dare to use it because I felt that if I used Mata blue for Naho as a contrast to Tuyet’s (probably) darkblue, and then gave her Kaukau, it would be “Super Gali”.
I also wanted to avoid duplication, since Mangai has a Kaukau user, Toa of Ice.
(Of course, it would not be unnatural if each member of the same team wore the same kanohi, but well, it’s just a matter of taste! )

Posing doesn’t necessarily affect the appeal of the MOC itself, but I think it has a lot to do with how much emotion can be conveyed to the people who see it through the medium of photography, so I always pay attention to it.
And… oh, you are in the osteopathic business or like something, aren’t you?
Then I have to write this warning letter… : ※Do not imitate the poses in those photo! She is a Toa, and they are not easily fatigued by acrobatic movements or being in dynamic postures for a long time, but you are a human being. Doing the same could be detrimental to your health!

I would have scratched Helryx’s MoP and added scales to Krakua’s Suletu, but for some reason the idea of “modifying an existing shape as a deliberate variation of Kanohi” never occurred to me!
It’s very interesting and exactly the kind of new challenge I could not have reached without your advice!
(And if I were to attempt it, I would have to remove the paint from the mask, process it, and then repaint it yet again, which would be a lot of work. It requires a kind of determination… )

This MOC, of course, isn’t an exception. I really like the shaping and creative part usages, especially the glow-in-the-dark Bohrok eye as the heartlight, you rarely see it used in MOCs and that’s such a good piece. And I love your mask choice for Naho, The Mask of Sensory Aptitude is definitely a bizarre design, but in a good way (I’d even say that this is my second favourite official Kanohi design after Artakha’s Mask of Creation) and it fits her character well.
And how can I not mention that your way of posing the figures is simply beautiful. That, in conjunction with your photography skills, makes your MOCs truly come to life! Also, how did you make that water effect in the two pictures of Naho swimming? (if not a secret, of course )

Another fantastic MOC! I wasn’t too sure of the mask choice at first, but the more I looked at it, the more it grew on me. It definitely works with how you have designed the rest of her. The eyes remind me a little of swim goggles! And I love your idea for her Toa Tool. The multi-function of it was a great idea, and complements Lhikan’s multi-function Fireswords very well. Can’t wait to see what you do next!
