Official Mafia Hosting Rules Topic

So once this category is created, all current Mafia games and other ongoing games will be moved to it?

Yaah.

I’ll try. Also, @Nyran, Mine was made before this post.

Note, after. I’m safe.

Well, I’m used to Mafias having sequels.

Meaning that if you do want such a sequel, you will have to have it filtered through these rules.

So… I am put on hold. I should’ve expected this.

So I’m making a bit of an addendum to the rules (because I was given unilateral power over this forum and what is unilateral power if not something to use however I wish tee hee)

While we’ll be keeping the two games per wave format, we’re also going to have a general, basic mafia game running at all times with little to no changes in the main format (villagers, mafia, a cop and a doctor, and maybe not even that much). Hopefully this will help keep things accessible to newcomers, as well as give some people a chance to host a simpler game before trying to host a more complicated one. Ideally, I’d like to make these the ones with the more complicated stories, just to keep things fresh

Might I suggest another rule? I mean, let @TFM101’s pass since he’s fairly new at this, but I think future games should have to have a minimum of ten or so players, and the number of Mafia to other players should remain at a 1:2 ratio or less.

Yeah… People still havn’t accepted me yet… I am a sad PFB.

#Update I: (1/28/16)

As some may have noticed, there hasn’t really been a Mafia game in a long while now. As such, it’s about time to update the rules.

1) Waves will no longer be existent. Unlike last March, we’re no longer drowning in Mafia games, and as such having waves is pretty much pointless.

2) Anyone can host a mafia game, with a staff member’s approval. If we get multiple game requests, we may choose to delay a game in order to not have too many games running at once. It’s recommended you PM me (Slime) since I deal the most with the Mafia games, but not required.

That’s pretty much all so
bye

#Update 2: (12/26/16)

Due to some recent games taking 3 months to complete, we’ve felt its time again to update mafia rules.

3) All games must not take longer than 1 month. This should really go without saying, but long mafia games are horribly dull and tedious. For the average Mafia game, a month should be plenty of time for players to make decisions. For games with more than 40 players, contact a staff member if you think a month will not be enough time.

Also, while we’re not mandating this, we’re highly recommending that GMs set a time limit for activities. It makes the game run a lot smoother, and is a good way to bypass inactive users.

4) Ghosting (dead players offering discussion and suggestions) is no longer allowed. Again, this should go without saying, but ghosting makes the game a lot less fun. It takes all the consequences of death and throws them out of the window. I know it sucks if you’re eliminated early, but that’s how the game works. Once you are dead, you are dead. The end.

Hopefully these rules will help in future mafia games, and keep the fun going for everyone!

and now mafia is ded

Wait is mafia still allowed?

I’m still not sure what mafia is.

It’s a party game. Like extreme heads up seven up

This means absolutely nothing to me.

So if I wanted to start a mafia game do I still have to ask a mod? And what are the current rules?
Edit: @Spiderus_Prime you got any answers? Or know who would have some?

I have a couple of mafia game concepts from my old BZP days on the hard drive. Anyone up for a good old game of mafia? :smiling_imp: I’m willing to host.

(Possibly we could revive the Mask of Ultimate Power-esque games too, if anyone wants to play.)

I’d be. Been awhile since I’ve participated in a mafia game.
