“You’re a rather poor listener, what was my first lession to you?”
“You are nothing.” Blaze says, putting all the focus he could spare into three tasks: keeping Erebos out of his mind, hiding his own intentions and trying to use his own mask power to break his opponent’s focus/concentration.
“Ditch the mask,” he says, “show me who you are without that crutch.”
The punch knocks Tarkur into the snow, it wasn’t strong enough to keep him down however. He shortly after got back up and finished loading his bow. He returned to the inclines peak and began to try and locate Erebos. He saw Blaxes struggle and started to device a plan to help him. Defeat what had also punched himself in the face
The illusion had dropped for the rest of the party as well, showing their foe with mask in hand, or rather mask on face.
“Lession one: Pain is in the mind.” Erebos repeated, using telekinetic forced to place a great deal of weight onto Blaze, flattening him to the ground.
“Then this is nothing.” Blaze growls, putting all the will he could into pushing Erebos back and standing up, “if pain is in the mind, then so are my limits and it’s time I learned just how far I can push them and rise above them.”
“But, what’s not in the mind is the damage.” Blaze says, “No matter how much you ignore it, Fire always burns.”
Seeing as Tarkur finally was able to get a visual on Erebos he began quickly targetting him and taking aim at him, he fired 3 bolts towards Erebos, 2 towards his mask and the last one at Erebos chest. All in an attempt to help out the struggling Blaze
He caught two of the arrows with his mind, but the third lodged itself in his chest.
“That, huff, easier said than done!” He snarled, grabbing the shaft of the arrow and snapping it off, before throwing a sick right hook at his face.
Blaze keeps struggling to get up, pushing with every bit of his physical and mental strength he could muster, “I defy you; I deny you.” He growls, “You cannot win, I won’t let you.” He says, partially to psych himself up but also to try and get Erebos off kilter. “Put me down, and I’ll just get back up.”
“Every. Single. Time.”
Tarkur tries to stay up but once again the punch pushes him of balance, however he was determined to help his teammate. He got up on his knees and in a hurry fires again another 2 shots one aiming for each leg. His aim is slightly less accurate this time
“Dax,” Ekimu growls.
“Yes, Mask Maker?”
“Keep Blaze safe.” Dax nods, positioning himself at Blaze’s shoulder, weapons at the ready.
“BETRAYER!” Ekimu roars, pulling his hammer from his back. “You escaped me twice; you will not run free this time.” He casts a glance to the Lord of the Storm (@Ghid), then the moment is past. He lunges forward, swinging for the dark Hunter’s mask with all his might.
Well, this was a fun day.
As the party fell prey to Erebos’ illusion, some aspect of the Lord of the Undying Storm’s mind kept him partially sane - the illusion crackled and tore at his mind, and reality fought desperately with it, rendering him basically blind for its duration, seeing sparratic glimpses of both the real snow-covered field before him and the mental image projected into his head.
But now Blaze was making it really hard not to simply side with Erebos and help to shut him up so he didn’t have to hear his inane prattling about how great he was. At least the sight of Blaze barely resisting the casual assault of Erebos meant the Lord of the Undying Storm would be able to accomplish a similar feat.
And yet… I feel like that death-
…wish… might come into play if whack-a-mask over here tries going solo.
Too late to join Ekimu’s rush, the Lord of the Undying Storm banked heavily on his greatest strength-related asset outside of plummeting out of the sky and crushing people to death: Throwing his axe at terminal velocity with the raw power to shatter stone. If Erebos didn’t give up his focus on Ekimu and the incoming arrows, he’d lose a lot of weight.
A pacifist, an adventurer, and a sell-sword found themselves hundreds of feet below the region of earth, surrounded by shadow, a single torch keeping the enveloping darkness from swallowing them whole. They were lucky enough to find themselves with a hostages, who, hopefully, would be willing to divulge some vital information.
“Well,” Kryuna said in a low, husky tone, brandishing the knife in front of the captive guard’s mask, “Start talking.” If the knife itself wasn’t enough to intimidate the guard, the fact that its weirder just dropped a fellow guardsman with no hesitation would likely suffice. That, and the giant great sword strapped to Kryuna’s back.

While he had been able to add the two arrows to his maelstrom of psychic energy, Erebos saw the axe and grinned. Not because he could deflect it, not because he could dodge it, and certainly not because he’d survive it. While his powers gained by the mask were still growing by the second, a tool of that speed and mass would be too much for his frail body to handle. One some level, It pained him to know that he’d be unable to finish the work he’d fought so hard for, but what he was about to receive was an acceptable consolation prize. Was he able to halt a massive battle axe traveling faster than the speed of sound? No, he grinned because he he had enough strength to halt another weary old man. He embraced his foe with both arms and powers, shutting his eyes as he waited for the weapon to strike…
“What are we talking about?” He asked, cocking his head to the side.
Blaze tries to grab Erebos. “You have the power, why don’t you stop the axe?” He tells Erebos. “Prove your power, show us pain is all in your mind. Stop the axe.”
“Prove us all wrong. Catch it.” He says, “Or you are nothing but a coward behind a mask. What good is all that power if you can’t use it to stop an axe?”
The Lord of the Undying Storm huffed, recovering from the position he ended up in after throwing the axe. Blaze was babbling something stupid, Ekimu was about to strike…
…What is that cretin doing? He’s just… Standing there?
“Pain is in the mind, but what’s not is the damage.”
“Told you.” Blaze said, trying to get closer as he grabs at the Psionics user, “You can ignore the pain but Fire will burn.”
“You said your power now equals the divine; put your money where your mouth is and prove me wrong. Prove me wrong when I said you’re nothing.” He says.
“Then let us burn together.”
Blaze smiles, “you first.” He says as he tries to shield his mind and ready himself to grab the mask at the last second.
OOC: time to play chicken…with a supersonic axe…fun.
Kryuna rolled her eyes. You’d think for a secret underground time organization, they’d really try to higher brighter security.
“Symphony. He’s a bounty hunter being held here. Now where. Is. He.” She said through clenched teeth.
