Okotan Adventures: Spider Saga

Traykar’s nose twitched, someone was approaching. He quickly smothered the flame with a pile of snow, and hoped that the darkness of night would help conceal him.

“Where did he go, again?”

@Toa_Vladin, @meepinater “Don’t know exactly belived he was going to get info from one of the local pubs.” Era said back to her more calm and cheerful mode. She continued heading towards the earth region.

Athena sighed and followed her.

Jevis neared Karios, wiping away sweat from his mask. Though he was a fire okotan, he still didn’t like the oppressive heat of the jungle.

“Do your other kids also express the Light element?”
Vladin asked Icar, curious. Blaze was the only person he knew that bare such a secondary element. He didn’t even know that Kora was the one who passed down this element to her son. He wanted to see if there were more Light users aside for Blaze and, from what he have heard, Light Bringer.

“Well, Kōra is a descendant of the ancient Light element islanders but that trait rarely, if at all, expresses itself and only in armor colors which can vary from person to person.” Icar answered.

“Blaze’s siblings haven’t shown any signs of the trait expressing itself but it may in time, or not.” He shrugged.

“Oh, so your wife has the Light element in her. Honestly I thought that it was you.”

Streke nodded.
“That’s why you guys went into that one pub, right?”

“I’ve got mainly Fire and possibly a very small amount of Earth considering the dark armor.” Icar said with a smile.

“Nice.” Vladin said, giving him a thumb up. “What about Kora? Where is she?”

“She’s at work; she’s a school teacher.” Icar said to Vladin.

Vladin chuckled. “Is she the teacher of her own kids?”

“No, the school’s staff felt that, while that would help them to bond more with their mother, it would be likely to distract from teaching and some levels of favoritism; they called it ‘playing it safe’ because they don’t want people sending complaints about such things.” Icar said, chuckling a bit at how funny that sounded to him when he said it out loud but he definitely understood the reasoning behind it.

Vladin nodded. “And what are they studying? Do they want to become just like you?”

“They’re still learning the basics and haven’t decided on what kinds of careers they’ll pursue; they are still kids, after all.” Icar said.

“Well yes but actually no.” Era answered.

Streke tilted his head, confused.
“…okay? So then what’d you go in there for?”

“Wait, how young are they?”

“To find an old pal of ours.” Era replied hastily
