Onua (G2 revamp)

I’ve made a bunch of Kopaka and Tahu revamps over the years. But only one or two Onua’s.

This one is very G2, but with the claws from the original G1 version because I like how those look. He can’t hold the weapon super tight. But he poses fine on a shelf.

I also painted the Uniter mask solid black and added a gold dry brush to the left side.

This is fantastic! I love the foot choice, and the weapon is super appealing!

My only complaint is that he feels a bit lacking in the upper body. He still looks strong, but it is just lacking that little edge.

The paint job on the mask is really good too! Excellent idea with the gold dry brushing, gives a good tribal touch!

Amazing work!

I love it, but I’m not a fan of the gold dry brush. I think pure black would look best!

That mace looks really cool!

Aside from the mask, there’s nothing specifying this as Onua. The build is super similar to basically every toa build in terms of proportions, and the slim upper legs clash with the thicker lower legs. The feet stick forward awkwardly leaving no proper heel, and the Mata claws seem bizarre and clunky compared to the generic, sleek figure.

The painted mask is cool, however.

The Uniters don’t seem to get a whole lot of attention nowadays, and seeing someone finally revamp them makes me quite happy.
Great Job! I love how you made it reseble Onua Uniter, but also gave it elements from G1 Onua such as the Claws!

This is really well done, the mask is a brilliant touch and I love the mata feet in the arms. The shoulders feel a bit small compared to the bulk of the legs though. Aside from that, this feels like what a G2 Onua in year 3 could have been.

Thanks for your feedback! What things about Uniter Onua made him unique? The 2015 build had that enormous chest piece. But Uniter had the same proportions as the others. Also, how are the colors not specific to Onua?

The colours are rather synonymous with him, but definitely not unique to him. If you told me this was some sort of Alternate Makuta, or an OC, and not Onua, I would believe you.

The most significant portions of Onua Uniter were the translucent purple ribcages as shoulder armour, the drill hammer, and the absurdly large two-toed feet(they were hideous). Also there’s no identification in the description that this is Uniter Onua specifically, so I was critiquing based on both set variants.

I also just realized the feet pieces are attached by a pin and my soul is in pain
