So i figured out that i should make one big thread containing my future mocs than just spam the section with new threads every once a while…
First up is the tarakava. I realize that there already is many concepts/mocs made out of it, but i really wanted to have my own take on the design, both because i had some ideas for it, and because tarakava is my most favorite bionicle set of all time
mostly the latter
Luke for scale
I liked @Matanui606’s idea of having kraata causing the madness infections in Rahi. One idea that came to me was that the kraata could be attached to cover the ‘mask’ of the rahi (possibly printing/sticker), which is why i added that jumper piece next to the slope. I think that it could be used as a bit of a play feature, where the rahi could be ‘cleansed’ by removing the kraata.
Now what most people will likely notice is that the tarakava is much larger than most concepts/mocs. Personally i think that the rahi should be made larger in porprotion to the minifigs (when comparing to the G1 sizes), because that makes them a lot more menancing, and allows for more detailed build, and possibly for some small features. Also especially when considering that the toa would probably have vehicles in G3, the fierce beasts that bring havok to entire villages would feel kinda lackluster when being only a bit larger than a minifig.
Ok, enough for rambling! lets get back to the tarkava itself.
I attached handlebars to the back of the head to allow minifigs to ride them. Perhaps the toa or matorans could tame and ride them after having cleansed them? (I kinda stole that idea from @Plural’s manas attack…)
And you guessed it from the rubberbands, the system tarakava is ready for some rock 'em sock 'em rahi!
Finally a size comparison with the original.
Only after taking the pictures i noticed that the left shoulderflap is bent to a wrong angle, and it is triggering me intensively
I’ll be putting up more mocs as i happen to build them. I’m not sure of whether to update the OP or post a new reply for each moc. (if someone would point me the more correct etiquette, i would be glad)
Critique and Comments are greatly appreciated
