Pohatu Uniter (and Ketar) Outdoor Nature Photographs

I was bored and really wanted to do something with Pohatu Uniter (which has quickly become one of my favorite G2 sets). So I went to my backyard and took a few pictures. While I didn’t take too many or take too much time with them, I hope you all enjoy!

I don’t take photographs outdoors often so this was a bit of a test for me. Also, I’m sorry my backyard isn’t a desert :stuck_out_tongue:

Wandering through the grass:

Looking for a place in the shade to relax, he stumbles upon a Shadow Trap and sees it as no threat:

Then he stumbles upon Ketar, whom he hates for being a scorpion:

Ketar is then attacked by a Shadow Trap, and Pohatu has no idea what to do:

After that mess finally settles, he finds a place to rest:

Also, I took one extra photo to see how I could do a close up. It didn’t end up that well.

I am pretty happy with the results of most of these.

No Ghosty level obviously, but okey nonetheless.

Ghosty also doesn’t use a cell phone :stuck_out_tongue:

Just more reasons Pohatu 2016 is, in fact, a good set!

He’s really expressive and the lighting can get a lot of different “moods” from him based on the angle

Great photos! The last one suprised me a bit with the amount of light piping, I didn’t think the 2016 eye stock was capable of getting much light.

It wasn’t very easy, but it’s pretty bright outside for me and while I was in the shade, I was sure to align his back towards the sun.

no Ghosty level obviously but

Seriously thought,these are pretty kool.
the first one is my favorite.

I would have taken more in that area if the grass was shorter.

The issue is that I wanted to use a flatter area with more potential for poses but had to sacrifice the amount of sunlight.

You took these on a cell phone?!
Just for that, 10/10.
I can never get good pictures on an actual camera, even…

Galaxy S4 was the phone if you’re wondering.

Thanks!

Except for the color scheme being all over the place.

I don’t mind it, but I can see the problems.

These are awesome, dude!

If I may give a bit of advice, one of the best ways to make the subject in your photo look alive is to get down low. Try to get some angles of them from a low perspective, or equal to their height. Depending on what is happening in the shot, an angle can make all of the difference, as well as giving much more emotion/intensity to a photo.

When I take pictures of my figures, most of the time I’m lying on my stomach on the ground. It gives a great sense of scale, as if the subject was actually life-sized, and it can make the photo all the more interesting.

Overall though, I like these. I hope to see more photography from you in the future!

scrub…S7 Masterrace.

The thing is, I don’t need some of the benefits spending that much money will bring me.

I’ll make sure to try it out tomorrow when the sun is back at full light.
