Actual reality? I have no idea.
Just like that ORAS intoduced Mega Evos DLC for XY?
Or that Battle Frontier DLC for Kalos?
And who could forget extra that Power Plant DLC we got revolving around Volcanion? 
Jokes aside, Gamefreak has adamantly told us that they don’t want to make DLC for Pokemon (paid or not) in past interviews, and their actions show this.

in the form of the Event Pokemon
That’s not DLC. The models are already in the game, you’re pretty much just unlocking content you already have (which is why you don’t have to pay for it). If anything, event Pokemon are trophies to commemorate milestones and other things for the company.

nearly every main Character is named after the Games Version
like Red, Blue and Green
and yes they did use X and Y as names
So it seems obvious that Sun and Moon will be used as well

I really shouldn’t have made this topic.
With the way that pokemon exists as franchise with games, manga (And other books), the anime, the card game, and all the merch, perhaps a larger general Pokemon topic would be better.
If I had been thinking, rather than existing is a strange hyped and somewhat attention seeking sate when I made this, it probably wouldn’t even exist.

Ton of new Pokemon revealed!
I assume this is what the July 1st info is supposed to be.
What strikes me as interesting is: is it me, or do some of these look more…hybrid…than usual? They seem more artificial than what we’ve seen before. An electric bug that looks like a box? A bug with a bird head?
Electric bird-fairy might be one of those “island protectors” mentioned before.
Also, that dragon…reminds me of Master Wu’s dragon from Ninjago.
