no… nonononoNONONONONONONO. They built it up so perfectly, and it’s not like he can’t go on to other Pokemon Leagues after he becomes the champion of one already! Ethan/Gold proved that by becoming the champion of two regions for crying out loud! WHYYYYYY!?
A new Pokemon does not make this acceptable, PoCo!
They just need to go ahead and make a separate anime that showcases the new trainers each generation. Make it last for like… 20 episodes so it’s not such a time sync like the main anime is. I swear, the anime makes you sit through too many filler episodes NOT to reward you with a nice ending each season. Origins was great. T-T

Spoiler-y thoughts below
Honestly, it wouldn’t be so bad if Alan hadn’t beat Ash literally every time they met. They could have had it end in a draw, they could have even had Ash lose earlier in the round. The fact that it came down to Char v AshGren made all the progress through the two’s interaction practically worthless. Heck, I’d accept this loss of it meant Alan would continue to be in the show through the next league. That way, it could have easily ended up like Ash and Gary’s arc through Johto. But no, Alan probably won’t continue on because of his ties to the team Flare arc, and Ash more likely than not will bench Greninja when he goes to Alola. I’d argue this league had the best buildup next to the Sinnoh league, but that’s just my opinion. However, being the odd-ball I is, this series is probably one of my favs. No resolution, Ash-Greninja apparently not op enough. Now let’s get on with World War Zygarde!

@Lost_Head. That’s…an interesting theory. But, how about this? What if Alan chooses to side with Lysandre in the end. Then, we may actually get the true final showdown. That way, if Ash wins, there’s an even larger resolution. It would make sense, since they literally jump right into the attack as the league is ending. Maybe that’s just my extra-wishful thinking…

What if Alain gets artested for being a part of terrorist organization, and so Ash is chosen to continue in his place? Ash can still win against Alain in the Team Flare Arc, and he could still go on in the League…
TBH I want them to kill off Ash (even though It will never happen)
