I have an Idea; What if Kapura is just uber edgy and switches his mask every now and then to confuse all of his haters.

Because that’s not something he’d do. Kapura doesn’t do anything without purpose.

In all seriousness though, it seems that the original intent for Kapura’s mask was to have it be ruru, but since the pakari and ruru look so alike, a mistake could have been easily made and that’s where the confusion begins.(and since he’s a side character, it wouldn’t be as big of a deal)

Couldn’t he have traded with another Ta-Matoran? Swapping masks isn’t impossible.

It’s simple really, he learned the secret to changing masks very quickly by moving very slowly and concentrating on the mask he wanted to have.
In all serious, to be it’ll always be the Pakari, because MNOG :P.
