Hi, its been a while. Been meaning to make more mocs like this but just haven’t had the time. Anyway, this is a Snake like rahi that lives in the jungle or forests of Rupahu Nui (my own island setting). It’s name is a combination of two Maori words, first word being Puawai meaning blossom and Nakahi meaning snake. I added the word for blossom into its name because of its pink and whie coloration, which is similar to cherry blossoms. Puawai Nakahi are ambush predators that hide in the grass, stalking small rahi and occasionally tohunga.
This moc is based on the 90’s technic/2001 bionicle style sets and I especially wanted to lean into the half animal half vehicular ascetic 2001 rahi had. Its function, as well as the whole moc, is inspired by a pair of mocs by the user Tributron. They where called Nakahi and Vipera nui, snakes that I felt fit pretty well into the aesthetic of 2001 by themselves. The aspects that I took from those mocs are there raised posture and the function they had. Puawai Nakahi’s function is that there is a button on the back on its neck when pressed down, will launch its head forward and down. It also has a mask on it’s nose, so it can play the mask game like other 2001 sets. Actually, most the driving force around this mocs creation was the pink mask. I had got it from Om3g4sKanohiForge and wanted to build something around it.
