I was watching Web of Shadows recently, and it reminded me of something Greg said. He said that the rahaga having the helicopter rotors was non-canon, so my question is, if the rahaga cannot fly, how did they save the Toa Hordika from their fall?

in the books (I believe it was at the end of #7), it was stated that they caught them midair and did a series of running and jumping across the ruined cityscape until all of them met in one place. Ill double check the book later

I think at one point it was stated that they could air-surf on their Rhotuka or something

In the comics, it appears to me that their Rhotuka can be used as helicopter blades, which would actually make the movies canonically correct in that respect. Just picture them with the ring around the outside of the Rhotuka removed and they look almost exactly like they do in the movie!

The helicopter rotors were really interesting in the film, I’m a little sad they’re not canon.

The movies are incorrect in that respect. Canonically, they just did big building-to-building jumps.

But wouldn’t it work, realistically, if they could use their Rhotuka like rotors? Just fire it up to high speeds, and don’t actually fire. Their shape would actually cause them to work like rotors.
