The Nektann is a bit round on top (though I guess they are kind of that round in the game) and I feel like the Lava Ape could do with more meat in the upper portion of his front legs, but the Burnak and Gafna are excellent. Someone has finally broken my Gafna monopoly, I see. =P

Thank you. The Nektann was pretty hard to recreate because the perfect piece for the top part would be a dome with stud on top, but unfortunately, this piece doesn’t exist and I didn’t found stud.io custom parts, so I did what I can.
For the lava Ape, I understand and I will try to enhance the body.

Quick update with Lava Ape.

With all the color variation of the Gafna and the Burnak

Holy ■■■■■■■ ■■■■, it looks perfect.
Just perfect.

How did I not see this until now?

Rothanak is just mass producing quality Kanohi like crazy, and that’s coming from a friendly competitor 3d modeller.

Now I ain’t saying we need a first person/third person remake on VNOG in Unreal Engine with real time combat, using this and the other Rothanak kanohi…. Ok, that is precisely what I’m saying, and I know it’s theoretical possible, but practically time consuming,

I’d play that.

Thank you.

I agree. His masks are awesome. I’m more a weapon modeller than a mask one, but I readily acknowledge their quality.

Your idea is interesting. VNOG was not as iconic as MNOG, and not as good to be honest, but it had potential to be an excellent game. A remake with a story closer to the canon (with all the characters it implies), side quests, more balanced battle, and, why not,the possibility to play Toa and Piraka with exclusive bosses (Irnakk for Piraka and Umbra for Toa), different endings, and a hidden final boss battle with Kardas that would be obtained if the player collect some special items. Possibilities are insane.

But we all concede that, programming is a time-consuming exercise that can discourage the most tenacious people. Anyway, if it happens, I would play it too.

I’d play that too.

Personally though, if I were to make a game, I’ld go balls to the wall heterodox, make the movie designs look faithful to the toys by comparison. And draw inspiration from Japanese metabolism, because that is absolutely Bionicle in spirit (just take Tange’s Tokyo Bay masterplan and slap on a Ga-Metru title card).

Then again, if anyone were to make VNOG, and I wouldn’t mind contributing a few assets & code, I already have a work-in-progress Unreal BP for some AI (especially when deciding to agro the player), as long as I can reuse them for my own unreal projects… then again, while I do have plans to do my own skakdi eventually in Blender, it’s not going to be toy accurate.

Now, I think if anyone were to be able to automate porting the levels to unreal, that would be a real breakthrough. Hmmm, I think at least it would be good for me to look into procedural generation.

Now who wants to create a thread/discord/etc for this crazy idea…
I’d consider myself a 3D generalist… but I do have a bachelor’s in architecture, so you know what I can bring to the table if we all end up doing some crazy ■■■ collab.

Okay, so first of all, that Rock Ussal is awesome, @Scmd1999. That’s my favorite so far, and that’s saying something!

Second, @iylv: I absolutely loved VNOG and would totally be on board to contribute in any way I could to a remake in the vein of what’s been discussed above. My game-programming experience is essentially limited to toying with the original code of VNOG itself (ironically), and I have no 3D modeling experience, but… I’m enthusiastic, and I can do math. =P

Also, I’m crazy enough to start things moving. @Anyone who’s interested in brainstorming/contributing/making this insane(ly awesome) idea a reality, DM me and I’ll put us all in a thread to discuss ideas and things.
