Rahkshi Kaita Di

Rahkshi Kaita Di are large dinosaur-like Rahkshi Kaita formed by the combination of Guurahk, Vorahk and Kurahk. They are incredibly strong, incredibly aggressive, and very nearly mindless, often having to be “encouraged” by their Makuta creators to attack what they’re supposed to as opposed to, say, a nearby rock or tree that the believe presents some form of danger. Despite this, they are quite dangerous in battle. Each has a mighty spiked tail, inside which the kraata is borne, and their clawed hands function as disintegrator beam emitters.

However, the most powerful weapon available to a Kaita Di is the massive harpoon launcher that can fold out of its back. A volley of harpoons fired by a battalion of Kaita Di is capable of downing even gargantuan Rahi such as Tahtorak or- hypothetically- the Zivon or Kanohi Dragon. As such, the Di were once used as animal control units by the Makuta in case a Rahi experiment ever went on a rampage. Since their fall from grace, though, the Brotherhood has mostly been using the Kaita Di as siege engines, since their Toa-sized harpoons are equally as good at tearing through walls as they are at felling giant Rahi.

EDIT: Spelled Guurahk wrong, whoopsy

For some reason, every Rahskhi combiner I see (both official and fan-made) has some super cool unique shape, and this one is no exception. The way you made that completely new torso shape out of Rahskhi part is really cool, and the harpoon launcher folds away pretty cleanly.

Thanks! Yeah, I think the harpoon launcher hiding away so nicely is really fun. I didn’t mention it, but it was originally a tacked-on afterthought that then became my favorite part of the MOC. I think the unique shapes come from the fact that the Rahkshi parts are so specialized on paper that MOC makers try to challenge themselves to use them in unintended ways, so you wind up with crazy stuff like this.

Oh, and since you mentioned it, in case you want to see exactly how the torso is built, here’s this:

This is even cooler than I had previously thought. I love how still basically just uses the exact same Rahkshi torso parts, yet connects them in such a way as to make a completely new shape.
