"Ranger of the North" MOC

I’ve been experimenting with CCBS recently, trying to find interesting ways to make MOCS aside from the simple hero build that seems to be incorporated in most sets and some MOCS. One thing I came up with is inspired by The Lord of the Rings. Specifically, the description of the Rangers of the North. They’re described as traveling warriors, fighting to protect their kingdom. Some of these rangers are older and only resort to violence when necessary. From this idea, I created this:

I wanted to give it a a sort of “ancient warrior” vibe. As if he’s been straggling from place to place, fighting off those who choose to face him.

He has a hunched back and long, spindly, “chicken legs.” And if anyone is wondering, those legs do an excellent job at supporting the huge body and back. They may appear to be thin and fragile, but I provided support in the back middle.

The hunched back was made by just clumping CCBS parts together and seeing what sticks.

Except for some gaps in the middle, I think it turned out well. Any advice or constructive criticism is appreciated.

The weapon looks cool, but the MOC itself kind of looks like a mess, specifically the torso.
I know you were trying to build a custom torso, but in my opinion it’s better to build the custom torso with technic, and then armor it with CCBS. I would also try to implement more white in to the torso.
In my book though, working custom with CCBS is REALLY hard, so I know you tried your best!
Decent job overall!

Thanks for the advice! In future mocs I’ll try to work in more technic and better implement the color scheme.

I’m not a fan of ccbs, but this MOC seems to incorporate it a little better.

It’s very strange.

Ooh, he’s nice. I would change the feet though. They don’t seem to fit him.

I can’t tell what goes where

Unless it was intentional, this MOC is way too messy, especially the torso.

I really like the shield but the rest of the moc is just off to me.

I got to admit this looks pretty decent.
Though try to lessen the black and gray. Add more white and maybe trans-blue.

A little torso clean-up could go a long way.
