I got invited to join a community project where everyone contributes a card patterned in some way after their coat of arms or at least a coat of arms. As I’ve long had a Sabertooth Tiger motif going, I made this!
By the way, if any of you happen to be interested in medieval stuff and/or heraldry, I’m in a heraldry discord server that is oddly enough the closest I’ve managed to get to feeling like these boards in their heyday when Bionicle was less dead. It’s a super fun group
Okay i have explanations for both of those things haha— So back when heraldry was actually practiced as an important identification art, most people hadn’t actually seen the animals that people were putting on their shields, so you’d end up with odd looking artist’s renditions and such where they may look a bit more like another animal. So you could say that to have fun with the spirit of that I didn’t exactly strive for perfect anatomical accuracy for the tiger and just had fun with it.
As for the lantern, my coat of arms (because in America anyone can have one of those) is this:
The details of the lantern on the helmet aren’t too important for me, so it can look different as I or any other artist fancy, but that’s why it’s there.
I apologize for geeking out here; I initially got into the hobby through commission work and have come to find it quite enjoyable
The creature he is riding does resemble a mix between a wolf and tiger. Still this is a really awesome art you have. Also will we see more artworks of this knight but diminished into a Castle Crashers character? You know there is a Character Customization in the game’s DLC.
I really don’t see how castle crashers has anything to do with this, man.
Sometimes when discussing a topic it helps to, y’know, actually discuss the topic. This is about Sabretooth’s drawing, not any external franchise or fandom or separate potential artwork. If you want to see a certain drawing so badly, it’ be easier for you to draw it yourself.
