Salvation: Part II

The large group of bots that were scrambling for cover, such as Spectrum, Epsilon-5 and the Captains of Salvation would hear the loud engine coming from behind them.

When Scorchlock shortened the distance between them he transformed and jumped in the air before landing on the ground with a slight ground pound, his metal face plate sliding through his mouth, covering it.

“Sorry, I’m late…” He said with an unexcited tone. “Any orders?” He asked the Captains, his right forearm shaping into his circle blaster.

Spectrum looks around the interior of the car, fascinated by the decor.

Thrust sprinted forwards and slid right before the rockets would hit him.
Banzaitron scrambles behind cover while pilots and Air Troopers inside the hangar deploy their weapons.

Vigor’s shots strike a refueling pad in the hangar, causing a fiery explosion as the energon fuel cells within it are ruptured and ignited.
Vigor cheers as he flies into the hangar and transforms, landing on his feet.
Lightshift makes his way into the hangar as well, firing short bursts of his assault rifle at the air troopers.

Topside swerves into the remains of a building.

“Get in here!” he calls to Scorchlock.

The rockets fly past Thrust, before turning around and zipping toward him from behind.

At the same time, Thunderblast deploys a subsonic repeater and opens fire upon her adversary.

Two Air Troopers are caught by surprise and are shot dead, their bodies falling to the floor. Three more, however, take cover as they deploy their photon rifles. Two of them poke out from behind their cover and fire at Vigor and Lightshift.

Scorchlock hears the call that was heading him to get in there and he followed and got side of the remains of a building. “What’s the plan?” He asked.

GC tries to get behind cloud cover and avoid detection. His alt-mode wasn’t built for A-to-A combat.

Song lands and transforms next to him.

Gronius’ eyes grew in Joy as he started activating everything.
And I mean everything.

Topside transforms to robot mode and begins to speak, but his words are drowned out by a deafening roar as the orange light in the clouds burns brightly. The Armageddon’s main gun fires, casting a fiery column of energy down upon the island, aimed at the capitol building below. Our heroes’ allies assume various alternate modes in a desperate attempt to flee the weapon’s blast radius…

…But suddenly, a thunderous CRRRAACCK! splits the night air, as the beam appears to stop in midair, just above the capitol building. Topside and ■■■■■■■■■■■■ look up at the sight, confused, before the truth of what was happening dawns upon them.

The Armageddon’s beam fades, revealing a disintegrating shield of energy that had materialized to shield the capitol building at the last second. As crystalline fragments of hard light fall upon the building’s domed roof, the entire ancient spaceport rings as its many towers and platforms come alive with glowing, varicolored conduits, and ■■■■■ to deploy powerful defensive weapons. The cliffs around Salvation shake as the twelve gargantuan statues around her draw their weapons and assume battle-ready stances, and great cannons burst from the rocks. Tendrils of cybermatter curl around Salvation as the fins along her sides instantly reform, their massive gun turrets swiveling around to target the Twenty-sixth Fleet. Below the Fleetcarrier, Motherboard’s visor flickers to life as her connection to the ship’s weapons systems are re-established.

The sea around the island churns as a ring of metal, caked in sand, barnacles, and coral rises from the ocean’s depths. Blue lights marbling its frame flicker to life as antimatter cannons deploy from its circumference, and a cyan dome of energy spreads from the construct to envelope the entire island. The Heretics’ barrage falls upon this shield, roaring like thunder as a thousand tons of munitions fails to break through, detonating harmlessly upon its surface. Thousands of Salvation crew members and pilgrims, emboldened by the display, emerge from their hiding places and cheer, their cries echoing across the ruins.

Salvation and the spaceport’s cannons open fire, sending a tide of foldspace warheads, plasma bursts, antimatter beams, and metal slugs soaring upward. The barrage passes right through this side of the shield dome and strike the enemy warships. One, an assault ship crippled in an earlier battle with Salvation, is destroyed, exploding magnificently as plasmafire rips it to pieces which fall into the sea below.

The seven carrier ships of the Heretic Fleet rumble as they sink below the clouds, coming to rest above the sea as Obsidian and Strika begin their ground invasion. On the Armageddon, Bludgeon’s face twists into a sinister grin as he strides toward a dropship preparing to take off. On the island, our heroes’ allies regroup and ready themselves to meet their enemies in battle.

The two Air Troopers rise in turn, aiming to overtake Gatecrasher and gain a superior altitude.

Sprocket’s blades whir as he attempts to fly faster, to get in range to attack.

Shockwave fires a shot at Nova, but the former Prime dodges, and the blast detonates behind him. Blue cybermatter leaking from his body suddenly flashes brightly, as if reacting to the spaceport’s sudden activation.

Scorchlock was all ears or very well said audio receptors but he didn’t get any of it as his words were drowned by a deafening roar that suddenly came out of nowhere.

He arched his right eyebrow at the sudden realization of it. “What was that?” He asked, his tone held a bad vibe as to what that could have been.

Right before anyone could even have the chance to explain, the main gun from the Armageddon fires upon them, aimed at the Capitol building below where the heroes where.

“Oh, scrap…” He muttered.

Cayde warns him of the imminent threat that was coming for them, he had seconds to spare at best as he transformed in his alt-mode and already began driving away from the blast radius, but would he be successful…?

Scorchlock wasn’t paying attention from behind him, probably he was too busy to drive away but the thing that made him stop in his wheeling tracks was the sudden thunderous crack that split the night air as the beam appeared to stop in midair, just above the capitol building.

He transformed back in his alt mode, he had nothing to say only but a confused expression that he could share with Topside and ■■■■■■■■■■■■, what stopped it? It’s not like Primus woke up from the dead and saved them, that would have been too easy.

However, when the mysterious fog had been lifted. He realized that the one thing that saved them was none other than their Salvation. Scorchlock stood there to watch the show unravel before his optics, almost wanting to cheer when he saw Salvation putting a dent into Bludgeon’s fleets.

But there was definitely a smirk behind that mouth plate of his. “I guess, she isn’t just useful for flying around.” He made a smirk remark as he looked at Topside and ■■■■■■■■■■■■, resting his hand on his right hip.

Cayde was up in the sky getting a view, showing it through Scorchlock’s optics via the neural link they had. He saw how Obsidian and Strika began their ground invasion.

But they weren’t the ones he was interested in if he wanted to give Paradox the revenge he deserved he had to take the leader out. If he could or not, that he didn’t know himself. But it was better to die trying than to die in battle and do nothing at all.

He transformed into his alt-mode and was speeding towards Bludgeon, taking a few routes, hiding between some collateral damage and smaller buildings, he wasn’t going to let Bludgeon take off so easily, he was someone with honor, so what honor is there if you flee away from a fight like a coward?

GC got above them, and dived, attempting to shred them with his 30mm, but the odds are not in his favor.

All around Scorchlock, Salvation crew members and pilgrims were deploying weapons and running to meet the Decepticon Heretics emerging from dropships.

One such craft hovers above Scorchlock, and two Ground Troopers and a Chem Trooper disembark from its interior.

The two jets each bank to the side- one to the right, the other to the left, evading Gatecrasher’s attack. They each attempt to flank the Decepticon.

Odds are, they would be successful, despite his maneuvers.

OOC: are they over water? I have a plan. But it’s too dangerous over the ocean.

Scorchlock sighed. “Of course, they wouldn’t have it any other way.” He muttered to himself.

As when the two Ground Troopers and the Chem Trooper disembarked its interior and probably landed on the ground.

He transformed during driving, creating a sort of momentum to him that made him spring like a bullet. He took his katanas out and he sliced with them at the two Ground Trooper’s abdomens before charging towards the Chem Trooper and sliding his right katana back on his back so that his hand was free.

As he charged towards the Chem Trooper at running speed, he thrusted his hand towards the Chem Trooper’s face and suddenly there would be a hidden blade that will come out, that was aiming at the Chem Trooper’s neck.

The two Air Troopers, now behind Gatecrasher, fire upon him with their plasma guns.

OOC: yes, they are, currently.

IC:

One Ground Trooper is felled, falling to the ground as they clutch the wound cut into their abdomen.

The other, though, manages to evade the attack, and fires a burst of shots from their photon rifle at Scorchlock.

Before Scorchlock could get too close, the Chem-Trooper hefts their slime cannon, firing a glob of corrosive slime at the Wrecker.

During in what speed Scorchlock was running, some of the burst of shots that came from that photon rifle would miss him but those which were more rightly aimed would get dodged by him simply tilting his body from side to side…

…Scorchlock wasn’t fast enough it seems, but he was no slow pope either. He took his katana and slashed through the glob of corrosive slime before returning the favor by Scorchlock quickly holstering his katana on his back and forming his left forearm into a blaster that was being fired at towards the Chem Trooper, the shots were more so aimed at the chest and face.

“Did… did I activated all of that?” Gronius said, puzzled.
“Apparently…” Alterion responded.

“Uhm… Waves?” Song said, pointing to the chaos caused by her brother.

GC attempts to dodge, one blast whizzing by, the other clipping the bottom of his fuselage.

GC Then dove into a steep dive, heading straight for the water.

OOC: Is Nova still near that clearing GC made?

IC: Juliana stepped out from the rubble she had been hiding under, and took a look around, now that the firing had stopped.

This causes the slime to disperse, spreading out over the immediate area. In addition, the corrosive goop begins to eat at the metal of the sword.

The Chem-Trooper’s armor protects them from the shots. They stand their ground, as the surviving Ground Trooper fires another shot at Scorchlock.

Alterion and Gronius would have little time to celebrate, as a shot from a sniper rifle shoots through the window of the control tower, just barely missing Alterion’s head and striking the floor behind him.

The firing hadn’t entirely stopped- but the spaceport’s shield was now withstanding the Heretic fleet’s barrage. It seemed, though, that Bludgeon was intent on retrieving the Omega Key; the carrier ship were now deploying troops to advance upon the island. The shield was allowing the enemies to pass through, evidently only designed to block incoming projectiles, and not people.

Shockwave shifts his gaze to the horizon.

“Fascinating…” he remarks.

Nova Prime snarls and fires two beams from his cannons at Shockwave and Wildsong.

OOC: yes, he is.

IC:

The two Air Troopers follow, continuing their attack.

Two missiles race down and strike one of the troopers, who instinctively transforms to robot mode as they explode and falls down toward the water. Sprocket had come to Gatecrasher’s aid.

Whoo!” the scientist cheers.

Juliana TF’d to vehicle mode, and flipped out her Gatling guns, preparing to fire if needed.

“On my word, get ready to run,” she whispered to Blight (@ToaNoah_Wafflemeister)

Laslow, having avoided Nova’s attempts to hunt him down, was up in another tree, trying to line up another shot on Nova, this time going for his head.

“He may be still be alive, but he can’t function without a brain module” he muttered to himself, somewhat bitter. Nova had singed some of his paint off. It was personal now.

GC continued to rocket towards the surface, trying to get the trooper to follow him.

Scorchlock looks at the corrosive goop eating through the metal of his katana, this was not supposed to happen. He holstered his katana before turning around…

He uses his left-handed katana to deflect the shots in different directions before running at the Ground Trooper, thrusting his knee towards the Trooper’s abdomen before swinging around and wrapping a hand at the Trooper’s neck, using his free hand to activate the hidden blade and thrust it at the Trooper’s neck, if the Chem Trooper shot. Well, Scorchlock was protected by the Ground Trooper.

The enemy hadn’t yet arrived at Juliana’s location. But that seemed likely to change, as Decepticon dropships fly through the shield dome. Our heroes’ allies open fire upon them, and they respond in kind, blasting away with cannons on their sides.

The Ground Trooper is seized, and struggles against Scorchlock’s grip. The Chem-Trooper raises their weapon, but hesitates, seeing an ally in the line of fire.

The remaining Air Trooper does follow, racing after Gatecrasher as they continue firing their weapons.

Nova Prime was busy attacking Wildsong and Shockwave, therefore open to an attack.
