Salvation: Part II

Song started yelling and shooting at the driller’s mouth, hanging with her two lower legs by one of the teeth getting out of his mouth.
“Got any explosives?!” she yelled to Headlong.

SideStep tilts his glass and sips some more of the Engex.

The three answer the comlinks.
“Yes?” Lightshift asks.

“Gronius would like to meet with you in private, he wants to see if your interested in helping him with something important to him.” Zepar replies.

“Ah, thanks for informing us.” Lightshift replied.
“Where should we meet him?”

“Just a second…” he said as he patched Gronius into the line. (@Toa_Vladin)

“Uhm… Hello?” Gronius asked, not entirely shore who would respond."
The Splitters might probably recognise his voice.

Song, now on the seafloor, tried to look around for Headlong before the Driller would plan it’s next attack.

Shockwave continues to toil at the components of the Cortical Psychic Patch, attempting to jury-rig away to piece them together, and connect them to Salvation so that they could be used. The cyclops figured his chances of success were low, but he’d need a pair of test subjects to be sure.

On a desk nearby was a datapad containing his research notes, which was all he had been able to take with him from the Adjutant when our heroes rescued him, along with a few prototype weapons.

On the other side of the hall, Sprocket tinkers with an ancient relic- a mining tool of some kind that Forcep had recovered from the body of a Knight of Cybertron, which Gronius had recovered from the wreck of the Inquisitive Savant.

“Thrift, I’m not gonna try and hook up the transwarp drive to the warp cannon so we can ‘banish fools to the shadow realm’,” Salvo sighs.

“Oh come on!” Thrift complains, throwing up his hands. “How hard could it be?”

“It’d be impossible,” Salvo retorts.

Headlong was gone, grabbed by the Driller and pulled under the sand with the creature. It was doubtful he was still alive. The other Decepticon was nowhere to be seen.

The sand around Wildsong undulates as the Driller travels just below the surface, snaking around the Autobot.

Song sighs.
“May your Prime take care of you.” she thought, before giving off all of her power to propel herself to the surface.

“Gronius!” Lightshift greeted the fellow crewmember.
“Lightshift here. Zepar said you needed something?”

“Oh, yes. We are calling together a team. Like some sort of Wreckers but… Not really. It’s mostly just a rescue mission, but you’ll see. I need you three to come to the cathedral a few hours from now, is that cool?”

“Absolutely. Just let us know when and we’ll be there.” Lightshift replied.

“Uhm… We don’t have a pre-determined time, but we will comm you when it’s the case.”

The Driller shoots up out of the sand after Wildsong, its tendrils snaking through the water and trying to grab her as she swims upward.

“Sorry to be a bit rude but I do have somewhere to be right now; I’ll catch you guys later.” Zepar said as he began to head to Shockwave’s lab.

Shockwave could be found tinkering with the pieces of the Cortical Psychic Patch. In the time since Zepar had seen him last, he had gotten his injuries repaired.

Zepar closes the door behind himself as he stands next to Shockwave and brings out the pieces the Savant’s AI gave him and places them on the table.

Shockwave turns his head as Zepar sets the pieces down. Wordlessly, he looks them over, judging their function and worth.

Evidently, he seems them useful gifts, for he soon takes on and begins to attach it to his haphazard assembly.

“This will serve me well,” he comments.
