Salvation: Part II

Zepar looks her over very gently, “Knowing her, I think she’ll use it quite well.” He said.

He lifts up his modified CLUTCH Drone, “Let me know if I messed something up on adding a repair ray from the vault.” He said to Sprocket.

“My death would not be on your hands. I am willingly putting myself on the line for your sake. And like I said, I am harder to kill than most.”

“Oh nothing’s wrong. Well, not physically at least. I was told you would know when I would be free to go?”

Broadwing lands with a thunderous clash in front of the junkion. His ferocious beast form quite the presence. He transform into robot mode, and speaks.

“Humble merchant! I am in need of weaponry. Now that I am at last entirely control myself, I seek to once again join the fight against the vile heretics that try to stop us from our quest.”

Sprocket looks the drone over, only making a few minor adjustments.

“Aaaand that should do ya,” he says when he finishes.

Tailspin nods, pulling up a holo-screen over her wrist.

“That I do. Let’s see… Breig, Autobot scientist… in for unsanctioned experimentation and causing the death of a crewmate,” she reads.

“Looks like your sentence is five days in a cell, with ‘additional restrictions’ upon release.”

Thrift stands up straight, dropping the bauble he’d been holding.

“Broadwing?” he says, cocking his head. “What’s up with you? Why you talking all fancy-like?”

The zebra sighed.
“Well I suppose it could have been worse. What kind of restrictions do they have in mind?”

“Through Primus’ gift of cybermatter, thanks to one of our recently acquired keys, I have been reborn. At last rid of the suffering I have endured for so long.”

Meanwhile, Starchaser woke up from her Stasis Nap. She was initially frightened and saddened to find she was alone. Despite his rather fearsome appearances, Broadwing had been a surprisingly helpful comfort while she was panicking.

She slinked down on to the engine room floor and made her way back into the hive. She changed into robot mode and approached the queen.

“Excuse me, your highness. I don’t suppose you have a moment to talk do you?”

Elsewhere, Pipebomb made his way to the decepticon affiliated bar. He felt long overdue for a drink.

Tailspin reads further.

“Doesn’t say,” she reports.

“Oh! Yeah, that makes perfect sense,” Thrift lies, nodding his head to pretend he understood.

Arthropoda looks down at Starchaser.

“It will be some tiiiiime before we reach our next destinaaation,” she predicts. “We suppose we do.”

To Pipebomb’s surprise, and to that of many Decepticon crewmembers, the Peace and Tyranny was shut down. A four-armed gestalt takes the bar’s sign off the building as Lurch, the barkeep, directs him.

“Well isn’t that foreboding.”
He muttered, quite displeased.

“Indeed. And with this reinvention, I have decided to make changes to my arsenal.”

“Thanks. I just wanted to ask. Do… Do you have any regrets?”

“Excuse me!”
Pipebomb cried.
“What is the mean of this?!”

“Yep,” Tailspin agrees, dismissing the hologram with a flick of her wrist. “Sure is ominous, alright.”

“O-kay,” Thrift replies. This, he understood.

“What can I do ya for? I notice you still have that wicked-awesome stinger tail- hope you’re not planning to get rid of that; it adds to your character.”

Arthropoda nods.

“Yes,” she says. “This hive has many. Beings who live as long as we do, unfortunately have many more opportunities to error than those whose lifespans are shorter in comparison.”

Lurch turns around.

“Meaning?” he repeats. “The meaning is that I’ve finally found my true purpose aboard this vessel!”

“Would you by chance know who would be able to tell me about these? I’d like to know the fullest extent of my limitations as soon as possible.”

“Of course not. In fact I plan to enhance it with some sort of ranged weapon. Perhaps a flamethrower affixed beneath the blade.”

“And… What do you do about them? How do you handle than?”

“And what profession could possibly be better than the noble barkeep? Providing a hard ale to all those who are in need of it.”
Pipebomb said. Sounding rather distressed.

“I’ll talk with one of the captains,” Tailspin says. “They’ve got the final say, heading the ship and all.”

Thrift winces.

“Fresh out of those, I’m afraid,” he reports.

But, ranged weaponry is a diverse industry, do remember. There are as many different guns as there are stars in this galaxy- approximately two-hundred fifty-billion, give-or-take.”

Arthropoda considers the question for a brief moment before replying:

“We make amends when we can, accept responsibility for what we’ve done, and try to move on.”

“Mine is not quite so noble, I’m afraid, but necessary,” Lurch maintains. “Bludgeon’s spy has continued to elude us and betray information to his forces, despite the efforts of a certain Decepticon to track them down. He has convinced me to reconsider my role in this voyage, and apply my own experience in espionage to counteract the spy’s efforts.”

Zepar accepts the drone back and nods before storing it and carefully picking up Shadowraker and looking at the lab, “Is there anything I can do to help you two?” He asks.

Sprocket and Grommet look to each other for a moment, before turning Back to Zepar.

“Can’t think of anything,” Sprocket says, shaking his head.

“Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.” He said to them as he gives a polite bow before leaving.

Grommet nods.

“Certainly,” he says. Sprocket gives Zepar a thumbs-up.

Zepar leaves the lab and begins wandering around the Salvation.

“Right. Thank you.”
Brieg said.

“Well what else do you have then?”
He asked.

“I see. Well… Thank you. I did something… Really bad. And I’m just not sure how to handle it.”

“Well that does sound pretty important. But still, I’m gonna miss having this place around.”
He said mournfully.

OOC: there’s not much I can do with this, sorry.

IC:

Tailspin nods and departs.

“Well, like I just said: a lot,” Thrift says. He opens up a compartment on his ship: a display case packed with unorthodox and custom-made weapons. There was what appeared to be a harpoon launcher, a gauntlet whose function couldn’t be determined from just a glance, and a jury-rigged version of a New Decepticon slime canon, among others.

Arthropoda nods.

“Haven’t we all,” she remarks. “But somehow, we keep going, day by day.”

“There’s always that ‘sunrise’ place just a cross the hangar,” Lurch consoles Pipebomb.

“Heh… reminds me of what Salvo said…” he mumbled

Garand and Epsilon find themselves at the target range testing out their new weapons and gear.

Zepar finds himself at the Conflux and returns the Keys before standing outside the room to think on recent events.

Brieg sighed and waited patiently. Tapping his foot.

The harpoon launcher could be interesting. The gauntlet though was definitely out. For obvious reasons. Though he still wondered.

“Tell me, that gauntlet there. What does it do?”
He asked curiously.

“Yeah. Thanks.”
She said kindly.
“Anyway, that’s all I really needed to ask about. I’ll be on my way if you don’t mind.”

“Indeed. I think I’ll be heading there now. Good luck on your venture!”
Pipebomb said. He then transformed into vehicle mode and ripped his way across the ship to the other bar.

“My armaments are of the highest caliber within the Autobot’s known arsenal. My armor is nearly impenetrable. If this manages to kill me, it could only be the work of the chaos bringer himself.”

“I hope you’re right… alright, how exactly do you plan to do this?”
