Salvation: Part II

“Yield or die.” Zepar growls at Bombshock, “Only warning.” The flames do not diminish but they don’t intensify either. His saber is ready to deal the coup de mort.

Zepar’s friends do what they can to keep from getting overwhelmed.

Bombshock wasn’t a particularly bright bot, but he knew when he’d lost a fight. He bows to Zepar and the insecticons under his thrall cease their attack and settle on the ground around him.

Thrust and Lightshift hit their marks and drop the two troopers. Two run at them while lunging with their bayonets, while the third starts to call for reinforcements on his comlink.

Zepar gives a commanding roar, “Bring me the Red Omega Key and stop those who were your masters that treated you as mindless beasts! Fight alongside me and you will be treated as equals!”

Thrust tries to push the bayonet to the side and respond with a punch, while Lightshift merely jumps to the side.
Vigor targets the third, trying to get an angle on him and fire his weapons

Bombshock rises, and cries out to his swarm. The insecticons rise and take flight, though this time at the New Decepticon ground forces. Despite missing an arm and being weakened from Dark Energon poisoning, Bombshock runs after them while wailing a loud battle cry.

Thrust knocks out his opponent, who clatters to the deck. Lightshift’s attacker swings again with the bayonet.

The third trooper sees Vigor targeting him and quickly fires a burst of hard light at the Decepticon.

Zepar roars, a battle cry to the New Decepticons that they weren’t going to get the Key without a fight!

Zepar sends the drone to give Bombshock a quick patch-up for the fight.

Lightshift ducks, while Thrust lunges after the bayonet swing and throws another punch at the soldier.
Vigor rolls out of the way, a few of the shots nicking his wing and damaging it. He fires at the third trooper again.

Bombshock stops as Zepar’s drone mends his wounds with its energon ray. He seemed surprised that his superior would extend such a courtesy to a bot he’d just defeated.

The remaining two troopers are dispatched- knocked out bu Thrust and shot dead by Vigor, respectively. They were now alone in this part of the propulsion deck, but the banging of metal footsteps on catwalks foretold that this situation was only temporary.

“We need to take this thing down as fast as possible.” Thrust said. “Let’s see what we can do as Split, hm?”
Lightshift nodded, and Vigor transformed and landed next to his two brothers. “Might as well have some fun.”

Separate catches the Predacon’s eyes and nods, showing he meant what he said about treating the Predacons as equals if they fought alongside the crew of Salvation and with their alpha, Zepar.

The exposed engine core glows overhead, as a squad of ten troopers run into the room from the catwalks above. The point their rifles down at the Splitter brothers.

“Drop your weapons!” one demands. “Drop your guns and get on your knees!”

Bombshock tilts his head to one side, confused. The cruelty of his makers was simple to understand, but Zepar’s behavior confused him. He had triumphed, but spared Bombshock’s life and made such strange promises to him and the hive.

Facelift picks up Bombshock’s severed arm and tosses it to the hybrid. “You’ll need this,” he deadpans, as the insecticon sockets it into place with the help of the drone’s healing ray.

Zepar gives Bombshock an assuring growl, he wasn’t going to be cruel to the Predacons.

He then goes to help his friends as Garand and Epsilon join in, “Time to go to work.” Zepar said.

“For Cybertron, For Primus and for Cybertronians across the universe!” Garand shouts as he, Epsilon and Zepar move to aid the Splitter Brothers.

The three brothers set their weapons down, and crouch down as if they were kneeling.
Suddenly, they formed into Split, and charged the squad of troopers.

Bombshock nods his head and returns to charging at his former captors’ ranks. His hive overwhelms the troopers, and the pilots of the Siege Mechs burst out of their machines and run in terror as the empty suits are chewed to pieces by the ravenous horde, making Salvo’s job just that easier. She takes the addition of her new allies in stride, and rallies the bots under her command to press further on.

“We’ve got 'em turning tail!” she laughs. “Keep’ em running, everybody!”

The troopers cry out in surprise and run to either side of the catwalk, which Split smashes into. The ten New Decepticons fall onto the deck.

“To the Tower!” Zepar calls out to Salvation’s troops.

Split raises his shotgun and aims it at the troopers. “How’s about you drop your weapons?” He replied. “And surrender?”

As if the good ship and crew needed any more encouragement. They charge behind our heroes further toward the tower. Thrift transforms into his VTOL mode and strafes New Decepticon soldiers from the air, while Facelift and Shockwave bombard the enemy in their tank forms. Halfrunner and DJ cover each other as they lend support to other crewmembers- the mute junkion’s shoulder-mounted speakers are revealed to also double as sonic cannons.

The ten troopers, deciding that Bludgeon wasn’t paying them enough to take down a combiner while their ship was getting shot to the Pit, stow their rifles and hold up their arms.

“Could someone provide support for Bombshock and his hive, please?” Zepar asks on the com link.

Split nodded in approval. “Which way to the bridge?”

“Bombshock? Who’s that?” Broadband asks.

“Oh, wait, its the green monster shrieking like a madman while eating New Decepticon goons alive, isn’t it?”

Bombshock was currently busying himself with doing just that. It was a gruesome sight, one that made our heroes’ allies glad Zepar had brought the hybrid over to their side.

“The bridge?” one of the troopers asks. “You’re not thinking of taking the ship, are you?”
