Scorp's Ketar Revamp

This is great! It makes me like Ketar a lot more!

Awwww! Too bad that I HATE SKORPIOS!

nice!

grins at the thought of inevitable mark-downs. Ketar parts-pack FTW!

I like the look of this guy! Great job on keeping with the original piece count and complexity. I don’t think the colours work as well as on your Skull Scorpion revamp, but I don’t think there’s much you can do to change those unsightly black sockets.

NICE. I like how you just tried to make a better version of the preexisting set and didn’t make a ridiculously overcomplicated set 3 times the size.

Does unity still work?

Technically, yes. I’d have to add in a CCBS bone piece in the neck to actually fit the head over Pohatu’s (I should also get a Pohatu for that), but since I retained the ‘piece of unity’ it can connect just fine. Would still look pretty silly, though, since neither the original set nor my Ketar actually have anything that would be useful to attach to Pohatu’s back (wings, fish tail, etc…).

I’m very glad that there are people as imaginative as you that are able to take a set like this one, give it a better function while still keeping the look of the original and if I didn’t know better I would’ve thought that this was a real set.
You’ve done a great job 10/10 and you can go to the cookie jar and stuff your face :cookie::cookie: :cookie: :cookie: :yum:

The Creature head on a scorpion still bugs me, but this is SO much better than what we got.

can you give building instructions
i might go and pick up ketar if i could build this the head function kinda reminds me of the bohrok
i wonder if with these new gears people could make a w016 bohrok using the creature
oh dear god somebody please do that

The back plating is amazing, and I also love the function.

I can post a few disassembled pictures, but it’ll be tomorrow night at the earliest.

@Scorpion_Strike I praise you for making an actual good version of ketar. that set is absolutely terrible but i love this revamp. time to take apart ketar and figure out how to build this revamp. absolutely amazing, i love it

i just need instructions for function

Will do, but I’m home for the weekend and as such won’t have my camera nor Ketar in hand again until Sunday.

Edit: took a still shot from the function demonstration video in which the gearbox is visible.

I used:
[>] three of the new light gray gear pieces with axles (Ketar comes with two as standard)
[>] two 3L blue friction pins
[>] a 3L technic beam
[>] a ball joint (to attach the head)
[>] one of those 90-degree dark grey technic connectors that the Protector of Fire uses to attach his swords (and his shoulders)
[>] one light grey technic connector that’s like the 90-degree one except it only has one plus-rod
[>] both of the black technic connectors that Ketar normally uses to attach his blades to the black ball socket pieces.
[>] one thin spacer (to keep the ball joint from shifting down the “neck”)
[>] several small pieces of paper.

I used the paper to make the technic pieces fit more snugly together, otherwise I’d pull the entire gearbox off after using the function only once or twice. Hopefully you can work it out from this, with the picture.

I actually don’t mind Ketar as is, but this is pretty nice!

Hey, this is Ketar, Creature of Stone,
I’ve got the jams, you’ll be blown,
I have sick moves, check it this one out,
I am gonna bring the roof down!

Hey, this is Ketar, Pohatu’s friend,
Umarak’s got nothing, I’m gonna rend
The heck outta him, if he touches me,
I am the only Ketar, this is the partey!

A little jam I threw together

My question is, how is he gonna look like on Pohatu potato?
